5 gambits
I did it with the same boss using gambits : on fire, exhausted, crippled, -dmg done, +dmg taken.
I used berserkers sword/focus with judges, syg, sy, shelter and renewed focus, with 0/5/30/30/5 spec with p/v/t with divinity runes and all berserker trinkets. I am sure there are better ways to optimize gear/build but at least it may give you an idea how to do it.
I mitigated dmg with focus and sword 3 skills, while teleporting in his face with flashing blade and judges when he does his teleport for killshot, and if that failed I used renewed focus to block it.
I try to use my heal set but wow!!! the number they hit back are more than 5 times of the amount i can heal my self and also my damage i can hit back to them.
The ugly things is many class had evade skill(or some skill that not take any damage when use) on their weapon or utility that can nullify killshot.
When looking back to us guardian “Wall Of Reflection”,“Aegis”,“Block skill” not even help with “Unblockable” killshot only renewed focus with 90 CD can fight against that railgun
OH!!! i forgot to dodge… but how? we are on the gambits we can’t dodge
Most annoying this is that gambits burn tickets SO FAST. I tried a similar tactic as Shardun, but I always fail at 1/3 of Dunwell’s hp :/ renewed focus on cd, heal on cd. + sometimes I get full sniper shot dmg even if I use Judge’s Intervention and get to him.
Does anyone know if Zealot’s Defense will eat deadeye’s killshot?
Seriously people there has to be a guardian who did this before, I really need some advice as to what gambits to choose, what boss and what build to use! thanks!
i’d imagine Subject 7 Ooze would be more suited for this no? i haven’t done it yet, but i’m planning to go with all gambits except for Crowd Favorite (extra opponent) and obviously Tremor (since it’s bugged? and would suck anyways).
will report back tonight

Does anyone know if Zealot’s Defense will eat deadeye’s killshot?
Neither WoD nor ZD work, I didn’t try with sanctuary or SoA, but I’m pretty sure of the result.

Any one of us finisihed 5 gambits yet?
I haven’t done it yet, but I know that there are 2 ways how to do it. Both of them require high damage (which I don’t have as a soldier stat guardian).
1st option is to spam AoE skills on Ooze and immediately kill his adds. You have to be quick so burning gambit won’t kill you first.
2nd option is to kill Dead-eye. You need even more damage output and be very skilled in dodging (you cannot dodge into those land mines). The less damage you do, the more time it takes and that gives Deadeye more chances to kill you.
Ofc, you have to use teleportation skills on sword and utility skill to close the range of his headshot attack.
For me it looks easier to try to kill Ooze.
Dead-Eye’s shot can’t be blocked, but can he blinded and made miss?

Yes, I am 99% sure that blind works on his killshot.

it’s work but depend on your luck that he are close to you so you can activate justice or 1hSw skill2 , or maybe use focus with slowy light fly tho blind him.
What about hammer nahhh casting time is too long, and don’t even ask about signet knockdown with 3/4 sec casting time.
Well, seems I managed to do it without blinds, but it was a close one (I got him downed). Seems like after the last patch Deadeyes behavior changed – if previously he teleported before the first shot right to the spot where the players starts (so you could scepter him until first teleport and then finish off with a sword – what I did first time, he never even had the time to do the second ’port), now he can shoot before porting or right after.
I was using Berserker Armor (-helm, which is mf), berserker trinkets (nothing ascended), scepter+focus and sword+torch. I ate all the buffs I had in the bank – bonus damage, bonus defence, regeneration, had master oil on me and power+crit damage food. I also had fire elemental powder from Fireheart Rise with me to summon Ember.
The build was 30 Radiance for Right-Handed Strenght primaly, I varied between +5% sword damage and +20% burning duration (I think I finally beat him with that), 20 in Zeal for increased Scepter damage. Put rest in Valor for faster meditation recharge and Retributive Armor. Heal skill was Signet, Utilities: Bane Signet for additional power and knockdown, Judge’s Intervention, Wall of Reflection. I tried Spirit weapons, but it didn’t work out for me. Elite – Renewed Focus, of course.
For the gambits I had all save Crowd Favorite.
Every guide I read said something like ‘when he starts shooting, port to him as the shot will do less damage’. Well, that didn’t work for me, as he downed me with one shot even if I was standing atop of him. This was a bit of surprise for me and I don’t really know what was the cause in my case. Also, his regular shots downed me pretty fast too. So at the start of the combat I shot Torch 4 at him (doubletapping), then switched to Scepter, dropped Wall of Reflection and dps-ed like crazy keeping the burns from F1 and Torch4 on him for extra damage. When he ported/started shooting, I activated Renewed Focus and as soon as it was off I resumed hitting him as fast as I could. He managed to pull off a second shot, downed me, but I got him pretty low, so I just finished him off while on the ground. Can’t say if ember helped at all – probably he contributed some damage.
What I didn’t have time to check, is whether knockdown interrupts his snipe. I think yes, and then signet can be a real help in the fight (with reduced cooldown)
