There’s already a thread for builds.

This is specifically for new patch only, in testing builds, and a way to get people some builds who aren’t necessarily awesome about making their own builds.

The old thread, if you’re talking about the sticky, now has a LOT of irrelevant information.

Feel free to post there as well too though. The more information that gets out, the better!

Armor: I am currently looking at armor but wanted to get some ideas down and figured the forums would be a good place for me to do that. My main goal is to get a burning/healing guard most aligned with roaming.

Weapons: I have always dreamt of a guardian that uses mace. So I’ll shoot for Mace/focus on this first try. Staff as other weapon probably. Maybe Scepter/Torch for more DPS?

Skills: I think Valor, Honor, and Radiance have a lot of promise for this type of play. There are a lot of blocking procs that I would like to work into a mace/focus playstyle. Perhaps staff as the other wep.

Utility skills: None of my specializations have much play with utilities besides burn. Lots of thinking to do. Will update when things start to come together.

Here’s my new Angelic Hammer build. it’s a meditation dps build variant for spvp and roaming.

so, first I’ll do the gear, the amulet I use is the new marauder amulet for the extra vitality to help live through the predicted new condition heavy builds in the coming meta, and the weapons I run are hammer, with sword focus on swap. I take fire and air sigils on my sword and focus and air and energy on my hammer, and Lyssa runes for extra precision and to turn renewed focus into an extra condition cleanse.

the utilities for this build are litany of wrath, judge’s intervention, smite condition, contemplation of purity, and of course, renewed focus. I know most of you guardian veterans prefer shelter over litany of wrath because of the previous cast time having a questionable duration and feeling like it was too situational in order to get a full healing effect from it, but I feel like this build makes it really shine, and that the reduced cast time makes this skill actually viable in competitive play.

traits for this build are as follows:
Radiance: Right handed strength, wrath of justice, perfect inscriptions.
why these traits when I’m not using any signets? well, I think of this specialization line as a sort of “panic strike” build for the guardian. Ideally with this build, you want to open with hammer and not actually activate your virtue of justice unless you are in sword to land an entire zealot’s defence (also because the hammer has an immobilize skill to begin with so it would be a waste of a very strong, though, not too long cooldown.) additionally, this set up allows you to take sword instead of scepter, which i favor for guardian.

Valor: Smiter’s boon, Strength in Numbers, Monk’s focus.
monk’s focus i took, obviously, because this is a meditation build and it needs sustain to balance out the glassiness. strength in numbers i took because nothing else really worked. what is really special about this specialisation is the Smiter’s boon trait. if you use litany of wrath as your heal skill, you are effectively using two meditations at once, (litany of wrath and smite condition), the second, traited smite condition operated seperately from your slitted smite condition and benefits from the monk’s focus trait, making litany of wrath an incredibly strong offensive heal skill on team fights and 1v1s, and has the potential to bring you from an inch away from downed state to full if used with a hard hitting offensive combo (the damage from the second smite condition will not contribute towards the healing of litany of wrath due to the cast time, unfortunately)

Virtues: unscathed contender, absolute resolution, indomitable courage.
I didn’t change this line from the previous meta despite glacial heart being an option for this specialisation. I felt that the condition removal will probably be more valuable. i would also like to point out that indomitable courage is now a stun break AND stability stacks, making this trait a no brainer for anyone who still wants to run a hammer medi dps build.

feel free to test and use this build how you wish, feedback and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
