So I want to make a support guardian that can be a tank while keeping boons on allies, with a side of healing. What jewelries should I be looking for?

Currently I have full AC armor with a hammer that has superior sigil of water. I’m working on getting a mace and shield as well. What runes do I put on mace and shield?

As for traits, I’m currently 0/0/20/20/30. I’m still experimenting with it, but any suggestions on trait line would help as well

Use a staff to keep you alive. Press empower when allies are around you and make sure you have the skill to heal when giving boons to allies. Also make sure you heal when dodging, and put on the sigils that give you endurance. With 1300 healing power I can heal allies for up to 1700 that I have seen when dodging. Swap weapon, gain endurance, dodge again

*For the use of staff also recommend the trait to reduce 20% skill recharge on dual weapons.
*Fast rez runes might help(never tried myself).

Hey fellow guardian!

So the best options for 2-handed weapon preference and tanking abilities is

0/0/30/20/5

5 in Virtues at the last for the extra boon effects upon activation.
20 in Honor for 2-handed mastery with the skill cd reduction.
30 in Valor for Altruistic Healing, it does wonders for all your boon application especially with that 5 in Virtues with might/protection/etc application. You can actually find that using all 3 virtues could heal almost equivalent—if not more—to your healing skill. This also combos well with the staff which is by far the best support tool.

Staff #4 is great for healing yourself and applying 10+ stacks of might on you and your allies.

I’m not much of a hammer player so I don’t know what else you would want, but you have about 15 points left to spare in any kind of specific focus.

Due to this build, power may be low, so you should aim for Knight gear if you want more balanced traits, or Berserker gear if you want more dps. But generally your trait build should give you access to quite a few tanky options.

For skills, I highly suggest retreat for aegis and speed. The best parts (imo) about a guardian is aegis from virtue of courage, aegis from retreat, and 3 seconds of invulnerability from renewed focus. Good thing about our aegis skills is it helps all of your teammates while helping yourself.

If you want more specifically what I use
I use Greatsword + Staff for most cases.
Utilities include, Retreat, Save Yourselves, and Judge’s intervention, and Renewed Focus

I built my guardian on dps and “all-around” prevention. Equipped with 3 condition removers + the lightcombo-whirlfinisher cond removal + 2 stun breaks + 2 aegis activations + 3 sec invulnerability usually helps me in all situations. The only thing I lack is stability but using Rune of Lyssa helps a lot with its #6 effect.

Other combos include rune of the soldier for the shout condition removal, 2xmonk2xwater for boon duration.

Hope that helps!

I don’t understand why I’m going to so fast in CoF. In AC, I definitely am a tank. But in CoF my health goes down WAY too fast. I currently have:

Full AC armor (power, toughness, vitality), superior runes of the monk, a cleric hammer (power, toughness, healing) with a superior sigil of water, a the AC staff with superior sigil of energy, and all my jewels are exotic sapphires (toughness, healing, power)
