A 'selfish' Guardian Trait
10/30/30/0/0 build with monks focus and running 3 meditations is about as selfish as you can get. Running with sword/focus and GS it is actually almost buffless and has no group elements at all.

I don’t know what you mean. I use a greatsword and tome of wrath for pure damage output. I bring along a consecration to combo or defend myself. If other players are around me I’ll pop a sanctuary while reviving them or just use it for myself for a brief break. There’s also spirit weapons and meditations that have zero group interaction.
The zeal and radiance trait lines almost exclusively effect you. Valor boosts your blocking and meditation skills. Virtues boosts our main profession mechanic. Honor is really the only trait line that supports a group. I don’t think it’s the class, you’re just restricting yourself. I enter battle looking out for myself first and foremost. The group is secondary. You survive longer and it lets you help your group more if they need it.

People are too quick to blame the game…. you very much can play as a selfish guardian and it’s still balanced. Look around, experiment, and try things out a bit. Monk’s focus IS a grandmaster trait for valor and is very selfish. I really don’t know what more it is you’re looking for.
