Guild Wars 2

Gear. So far I’m thinking of full Knight’s armor and Valkyrie Amulets with a Berserker Greatsword.

Thoughts?

This is for general DPS guardian and WvW.

General DpS: 3000 Power+, 25% Crit Chance+, 25% Crit Damage+
WvW: 2500 Defense+, 17k Health+

These are some minimum values that I wouldn’t fight with any less.

i dont get it, why should i go for then?

You can use the site to check and plan a gear you’d like to have.

There’s no specific “this is the best gear” or “this is the best stat combination” (this one is arguable though).
You aim for something, such as “I want at least X% critical hit and damage” and play around the site until you get the values you want.

Then I said some minimum values I wouldn’t play without for General DpS and WvW.
If you’re going to DpS with anything below those values, I think you’re underperforming badly. If you’re going to WvW, I’d suggest these minimum defense/health values so you don’t insta-downed by some glass thief or warrior (even then you will, but it won’t be as frequent).

Note that I used Soldier’s armor in both builds, but you could use Knights and get a different weapon/trinkets to get the values you’d like to have.

agreed with most of what Danicco said. a decent starting place for what armor pieces to get i feel can be:
Knights – head, chest, legs
Valkyrie – shoulders, gloves, boots

then mix and match your weapons and trinkets to get the stats you’d like. of course, don’t forget about runes or orbs. sigils as well. then add on food and consumables (oil for precision, stones for power) for WvW as well.
