Need some help if anyone has some time.

Hi, I need a build to practice PvP on since I haven’t been playing a Guardian for about 4 months. I made a thief, but they are just really weak now in most aspects of the game and particularly in PvP and to a lesser extent WvW.

Ultimate goal is to have a hotjoin build and a WvW build (likely not the same I think) with the following characteristics

1) For hotjoin assume that your teammates are terrible and never help with anything, in fact assume they have never PvPd before (this is my usual experience) – so not a support build, one that can survive on it’s own and be useful. This mostly to get back into knowing where the buttons are and playing semi-competently. And one with lots of condition removal since 50% of people in hotjoin are now necros (not sure why… oh wait yes I am)

2) For WvW a useful team build that can be the tethered goat for a 5 man guild team on TS. I was running a Hammer/Staff build last time I was playing Guardian.

For hotjoin and tpvp I use the same build most of the time. It gives you decent dmg, nice survivability, and still some team support. It’s pretty much the jack of all trades build. Do good dps, but not as much as a glass cannon. Can still bunker just not as well as a true bunker build. Pretty much a hybrid, which is why I find it to work so well. I also use it in WvW, just different gear ofc.

Or if you want to kill bunkers and handle mesmers with ease.

Go for 0/30/30/5/5 with hammer or gs as main (i prefer hammer due to instant burst with sword/focus and judges intervention. sigil of fire and energy in sword/focus and intelligence or energy in hammer.

Depending on map you swap out the hammer/gs for scepter.

Berserker/soldier, soldier/berserker, soldier/soldier or berserker/beserker as accessories.

EDIT: Imo you should always have one weapon, at least, fitted with energy, those are lifesavers versus skilled opponents.
