All Firebrand Skills & Traits
Loremaster GM trait oh man
and Axe looks fun as a condi cancer wep
The amount of burn available is insane
The amount of shouts available is insane too.
Stacks of burn is great and all, but it’s the ONLY condition you have as a guardian and the whole stack can be easily cleansed, in wvw or pvp. Will the way conditions work change.
Looks okay-ish but
all these skills and not even one channeled block in sight unless I’m blind. But hey we’ve got another projectile reflect/hate skill on Courage Tome 3rd skill, because we don’t have enough of this … supposedly no one at anet notices that no amount of single hit block aegis, blocks and hard cc can help us if someone (including HoT mobs, thiefs etc.) decides to just blink to us and do “1skill 20hit instagib attack” on our kitten health pool
that stalward stand :|
this is really core guard on steroids… RIP core guard xD

axe is full of bleeding. one mantra gives multiple non damaging conditions that you can use as cover.
So no improvement on spritit weapons?
This is not the thread for that question
I guess stalwart speed coupled with hallowed ground makes for a nice quickness factory
With all the condi damage in the form of burn that’s available I share the same concerns around cleanse as have already been raised but my concern is that it’ll be pointless to try and build a condi guard as well be against foes whos element is fire it’ll either be reduce damage or completly unaffected (considering Balthazar is the God of fire and war and the expac is called path of fire) please tell me if this is wrong buts it’s sort of what I’ve picked up in the trailer and subsequent videos I’ve seen.

Theenjietube.5702, ANet removed those rules, if you can make cannons cripple and bleed, and if i recall fire destroyes get burn by fire lol…. unless Anet re-added that rule again…
Players dont need to pay atention to elemental counters on this game…wich would actually a kewl thing to add.
Ah okay, I’ve been away for a while (well since just after HOT) and I never really played much attention before then either I just thought about it now as the condi damage seems to be more apparent with the firebrand

Plus axe is loaded with bleeds so condi guard no longer relies on burns as it’s only dps condi. additionally, one of the mantras spams cover condis.
and with the right sigils theres more condi to cover the fire stacks
Looking forward to revealing harsh truths to my enemies.
I have mixed feelings on the Mantra of Liberation. Looks like a “Stand Your Ground!”. But with 2 charges, twice higher CD and you have to channel it again out of combat. A bit too weak for the elite. The only upside for me is the ability to cast it again real quick if your stability was stripped.

Don’t forget the mantra is also a group stun break, something that SYG is not. It also doesn’t compete with SYG, so you could run both which may definitely be a necessity considering all the boon-strip/corruption we will be seeing.
On a related note: I hope they heavily reduce the CDs on the tomes so it feels like tome-uptime is decent without necessitating RF. I don’t want to be pidgeon-holed into that boring elite once more because this new elite honestly seems a lot more interesting/tactical.
Mantras look interesting.
Tomes – no thanks. Long cooldowns and limited charges. Sounds a lot like elementalist conjured weapons, right? They’re one of the least used abilities in the game. For good reasons.
Gotta give them credit in the humour department though. A religiously themed profession with a trait called “Unrelenting Criticism”. Well done.
