With the idea of new weapon skills being thrown around in the CDI thread on Horizontal Progression, I thought it would be cool to get everyone here to throw around some ideas for alternate skills that we could unlock for our currently usable weapons.
Note: This thread is not about giving guardians NEW weapons, but new skills for our current weapons. If you want to talk about new weapons for the guardian, then start your own thread.

Here are some alternate skills that I thought up for the shield:
#4: Zealous Adherence – Teleport to target. If they were in combat, they are now Dazed.
Damage: 70 (0.2)
Daze: 2 s
Range: 600

#5a: Guard’s Bastion – Block the next five attacks. If five attacks are blocked, send out a wave of energy that damages and launches foes.
Duration: 6 s
Damage: 650 (0.8)
Launch: 500
#5b: Guard’s Redoubt – Stop blocking. Grant yourself, and nearby allies, Aegis.
Aegis: 20 s

Skill set 2 for Staff – Theme Melee Monk (Blocking, Control playstyle)

As the Guardian is a heavy armour class it’s less about mobile martial art style staff skills (This could be performed on the thief) but more of a blocking controlling playstyle in the thick of it. The melee staff is a similar in playstyle to the hammer were the hammer is more of a offensive control the melee staff performs as defensive control putting out less damage overall then the hammer.

  1. Staff auto – similar to the rangers greatsword auto but instead the attack chain includes a block on the 2nd attack with the last chain attack applying a 1 sec retaliation as well. Chain speed similar to the mace auto.
  1. Staff lockdown – multiple heavy strikes that locks (11/2 – 2 sec immobilise) the enemy (enemy is hard pushed that all they can do is fight back) Cooldown 15 sec
  1. Staff launch – a forceful two handed strike / force wave that sends the enemies (2 or 3) flying (launch 200) but with some after cast 1/4 to 1/3 of a sec (such a large attack leaves you open). Cooldown 20 – 25 sec
  1. Staff melee symbol – sweep the staff around you knocking down (1 sec knockdown) surrounding enemies (5) placing a symbol of might (1 sec 3 stacks, symbol duration 4 sec). Cooldown 30 sec
  1. Staff defence – a channel skill that spin the staff in front (4 sec) blocking attacks and reflecting projectiles. Cancelling applies ageis to the group (range 600) and increases cooldown by 50%. Cooldown 40 sec
