Amplified Wrath
Because radiant retaliation fits even better in radiance than amplified wrath does, comparatively. Amplified wrath also directly affects burning, giving you the one-two punch of duration and damage in that line. Radiance augments retal damage, which basically gives you another condition source. Problem is, the feathered cap on retal hurts that kind of build in the venues where it would be most useful, wvw and spvp.
Amplified wrath builds are easier to use, particularly in a hybrid format, whereas radiant retaliation is a much harder beast to tame.
Even with new trait and 2000 condition damage I don`t feel retalation like “condition”. And if you go something like 6\6\x\x\x with guardian you don`t have any predicition to survive.

that sounds worse than a rally bot o_O, it kittens me CDI’s are taking to long.
It wouldn’t be so bad if kindled zeal was dropped down to a master trait. That way, there’s actually something useful in the trait line to take when using amplified wrath. The way it is now it’s just awkward trying to make a build with it.
I wouldn’t mind kindled zeal dropping to master, though I don’t know what would take its place. It’s not like you have to take kindled zeal with radiant retal either, and full dire in wvw isn’t terribly squishy. For PvP, best bet might be rabid or settlers x/6/x/6/x with force of will. You’d have to get your conditions from sigils and runes, but that’s life.
One concern in PvP formats is the retal damage reduction. You’re doing 33%(?) less than you would be in pve, which kind of hurts the point. Might be worth messing around with in hot join for a change of pace, but I don’t think there’s anything going for it yet.
For now I runing this build http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVEQJARWlsApZoFDxVI8rNx/Ql1RYdAMA151XwKsBA-TFSFAB0pJAgLBAO7PgnOAKV/5KlgPp8L5nAApAmUaE-w in 10-15 guild raid. But if Amplified wrath was more accessible I would make more interesting build…
2700 condition damage with 25 might stacks
burning 800-1000 per tick
bleed 200-300 per tick
torment 200-300 per tick
retalation 200-500 in different situations

So far I’ve been able to get radiant retaliation to hit for over 300 dmg in pvp. I’m not sure the accurate numbers but I believe thats around 30-70 dmg more. Its actually a good trait but the pvp damage reduction makes it look far worse than what it should be.
I disagree with not having skills to survive if you go 6/6. I’ve been playing around with signets just to see if they can offer a remedy to the problem you mention and to a degree it does. With inscribed renewal and signet mastery you get some above average condition removal, the defense increase from signet of judgement and CC from wrath and bane signet. I want to make this known, I’m not saying signets are the answer but I’m saying try to think outside the box.
I don’t feel there will ever be a end game build that is universally good against every build. Each build will always have strengths and weaknesses, as they should.

If you play solo – signets not bad. But if you play in grp – signets is very bad. If you play guardian in good grp and don`t have stability – next time ppl will ignore you.
For most situation in game when you play guardian in group – you MUST HAVE 2 skills: Purgins Flames and Stand your ground…and Staff like second weapon ofcourse. If you dont – you are bad guardian.
P.S. I`m not talking about sPvP – most people play PvE and WvW.
the problem is since the new condi meta for pvp coming out from engi/necros, people are running more condi clense… so even if you are placing those burns on, most players will keep it off them, and we make it easier to do so cause we can’t stack other forms of condi to protect those ticks
In any case, it should be revamped to either:
-Burning now causes grievous wounds, reducing healing by 50%
-Burning now keeps target visible
-Burning will ignite for 30-40% of its remaining damage if cleansed
Not all of those, but something suggestive atleast, if they want guards to run burning builds (for w/e reason) they need more ways then what we have to make them work.
for me the burning even as full condi works just fine
sure there are some builds which is harder to kill but some too easy aswell.
i think anet want the guardian to go hybrid and not full condi just with burning dmg even with the buff 33% u can see its in the power line and not condi line
so far my hybrid work like a charm and even better in group raid as dps guard
if this trait moved to condi line you will see ppl running OP build with 2,6,6,0,0 meditation build with zerk gear which also do 1k burning => OP dmg isnt it?!

The way I see it is, why even experiment with this type of build when you are limiting yourself to rigid thinking? You don’t have to have ANY of that in group, its more like you FEEL you should have it not that you have to. So your entire problems will revolve around not wanting to let purging flames, stand your ground and the staff go. And trying to somehow make them fit into a burning build.
Sometimes you have to look past all of that and experiment with things outside of the normal in order to discover new things. Condition guardian is a new thing and it may not mix well with old ideas in regards to what people think guardian needs in pve/pvp/wvw.
