I know guard has so many leaps and teleports but still, I think giving guard more access to swiftness wont hurt the game. Rev can get perma swiftness just from a button press.
At least, please make retreat swiftness back to back without the need of traiting it.
It’s fine the way that it is seeing that Guards are supposed to be more of the bulkier-Paladin archetype.
We have plenty of skills (teleports and leaps as you mentioned) to help us move around the battle field in PvP and have easy access to swiftness when we need it in PvE and WvW.
Rev’s with Perma-swiftness on one button? They have an entire Spec dedicated to boons so that makes sense that Swiftness is “free” for them. Once they swap out of Glint? Well, you can do some odd combos in Jalis or do some Shadowstepping superspeed shenanigans with Shiro. Outside of Glint they’re pretty starved for Swiftness as well. I digress though. My point being that comparing classes to one another has never made sense.
Sigil of Speed, Rune of speed, Salad nourishments (non-PvP) are options as well.
I can trade a trait for a speed trait.
All classes (all)have one ability or trait to achieve that. Is really no harm.
A utility skill or a trait is really usefull when in open world.
