I really want to use the shield for something ._.

I guess you could use sword and shield. From what I remember, sword has some pretty decent dps, just sword/focus was more reliable. So you won’t be getting the best dps, but for pve, you should be just fine. Shield 4 gives you aegis and protection which would add to your survivability and shield 5 is okay against projectiles, but a reflect is better than an absorption of projectiles. I personally like the focus for the blind and shield it gives, and with the right trait, it’ll give you protection like shield just minus the aegis.

I love having a shield too. My tank build uses mace/shield and this condi DPS build 1h sword/shield.

I know I give away DPS but I just don’t like the other weapons.

Which one? And what would be the point, there it is. I write my own build editors, I call it Gear Grinder lol. I have one for all the games our guild has played over the years. I tend to be our guild crafter and build reccomender-er, at least give them a place to start.

shield is a defensive/magical offhand, not ment to be used as DPS, but can be traited to apply criple and vulnerability if that helps…

Only damage oriented build I can see the shield fitting into is Obal’s condi build. You would have to switch the torch out for a shield which would hurt your damage quite a bit, but it would work fairly well otherwise. The only sad part is you really can’t fit the Valor line into a good damage build since you need Radiance, Zeal, + Honor (if mace) or Virtues (if sword/scepter).

I’ll share my build, being that the only legendary i own is the flameseeker prophecies i had to make a build up somehow haha. I call this build unyielding serenity! (corny i know haha)

I utilize the swords multi attacks to stack up burn quickly. The main cool point of the build is meditations heal the crap out of you and they provide good fury upkeep. While using a 1h weapon against a burning target (always) you have a +25% crit chance, so add fury to that and you’re at 100% crit chance. With super veggie pizza i’m at 90% burn duration. I use celestial trinkets and weapons because this build can effectively use all stats, especially healing power (four self heals, five if you include shield 5.) I use berserker armor, but i suppose vipers could be better to use until you get that last 10% burn duration. I personally don’t think it’s necessary.

I use scepter/torch when i want to stack bloodlust or if i need to hang back. I’d say i spend 80% of my time using sword/shield. Scepter benefits from the same crit bonuses mentioned above. You could play with the sigils a bit imo, but i’ve played around with different ones and this is the setup i found to be most useful. The flame legion rune is pretty much required.

It’s a very mobile build, i love being able to dash around the battlefield. I will say i just pulled this build out of my kitten one day, trying to find a fun way to use a shield. My original intention was to switch to dragonhunter after getting my hero points, but i like this build too much now. It’s VERY survivable and it does pretty decent damage. It’s really good for HoT content or soloing in general. My only complaint is i wish i had more HP with the guardian, but i suppose that’s a balance issue (sits at around 17k hp, due to celestial. However, you do have 3 powerful condi cleanses.)

P.S. While in a party switch stalwart defender trait over to strength in numbers, but stalwart is much better while solo. Hope you like my build haha.

Just use a standard medi build and throw on 2 one handed weapons. Or throw together something random cuz I have no idea what you want to use it for (like 90% of ppl who ask for builds).
