Any good gs/hammer builds?
Hammer/GS is my specialty :P Great control and quite some gap closers. To deal with conditions I have purity, generosity sigil and also (of coarse) CoP.
My advice, just stay on top of them and be sure to land immobs.
^My PvP build for hammer/GS. Maybe traveler runes in WvW for mobility and add some PVT gear and you’re good to go

For most of my time I was running full zerk medi 0/0/6/4/2 gs/hammer guard with scholar runes (I had no money for new runes and PVT gear) and I want to tell you that in wvw roaming I did pretty well. I had to surprise enemy to burst him down before he even notice, but I wasn’t so squishy not to survive another class burst.
Greatsword/Hammer can work with pretty much every imaginable build. Not perfectly, but decent enough.
My build is similar to Holl’s but with a bit of twist!
This is the solo version. For group/zerg support use different sigils than Hydro (pretty obvious…) and change the Master Honor to Empowering Might and the Valor Grandmaster to Altruistic Healing (well, you can keep the Monk’s Focus if you want but in a group situation you wanna stick with the melee and buff them… that’s why AH is better here…)

The knockdowns are real, between sHammer, hammer, and shield. Would yall still recommend 01661 or other builds?

It certainly does, very nice for solo roaming. The extra condi cleanse imo is more useful than the extra HP with 0/1/6/6/1.

For 3v3/4v4 type fights I agree. But you would have to save JI for either whirling wrath, or hammer… you’d have no support vs rangers, mesmers and necros.
I see Huge weaknesses with gs/hammer combo.
