Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone,
I’ve decided to come back to GuildWars2 after almost an entire year’kittenus. I was 80 when I left, so still there. I’m looking for some advice and guidance on what I should be doing now in the game. I’m not in a guild and I don’t really do PvP.

I’ve read that I should be working towards Ascended gear but can’t find much on how exactly to accomplish that. I’ve read obal’s post and watched his youtube but everything just says “get this” without much on how to accomplish that (other than buying on market).

I recently purchased 2 Berserker Exotic rings and a Berserker amulet and switched to an Exotic Berserker greatsword with a Rare torch/focus as the other set.

Do I simply need to be running dungeons X, Y and Z over and over to get the gear via random drops? Or do I need to be powerleveling a crafting profession?

Just looking for a master who can help this padawan learn the ways. :-)

Hmm you might like to take a look around the new Lion’s Arch, then go to farm the Silverwastes until you can’t take it anymore.

For ascended stuff you will need to level some crafting professions to 500. And then to make an ascended item will cost around 200 gold.

Ascended loot chests can drop anywhere that ascended materials can drop. Best place to get ascended armour loot chests is from Fractals.

Ascended weapon loot chest drops are quite rare. I’ve found two so far – a Cavalier weapon from the Dredge Commander and a Celestial weapon from a Lost Bandit chest in the Silverwastes.

It’s best to get ascended rings from fractals, otherwise you have to spend laurels/ectos/gold.

But you will probably have to craft your own weapons/armour:
