I was looking at our traits late one night and noticed how most of weapon centric traits are just a simple 5% damage. What i was thinking that instead of 5% Damage the Scepter trait added 5% damage AND made ALL scepter skills 1200 range. Since it is really the only ranged option most guardians use (Staff is just weird) It would fix a lot of the problems most folks face when forced into situations that require ranged combat I.E. WvWvW.

Also the other skills that just grant a base 5% damage are kind of meh. Maybe combine zealot’s blade and 5% damage greatsword trait into just one master level trait leaving room for a new Grandmaster trait that could be utalized by other weapons. Mace is defensive weapon. instead of just a damage increase I rather see a trait that gives 5% chance on hit to grant aegis for 5 seconds or protection for 5 seconds for you and your party. Sword and Spear Damage trait is kind of odd. If you combine two weapons into one trait its should be Spear and trident. Spear damage increased by 5% and Trident should increases the number of bounces on its skill #1 or the healing for skill #1 by “X” amount. Sword should be 5% damage + Increased range on zealot’s defense or have zealot’s defense omi directional. Lets talk Hammer. Its trait i feel is kind of really meh. The hammer trait should make it so that Zealot’s Embrace adds 6 seconds of cripple. 2 of those seconds are eaten up by the immobolize but increases the recharge rate of Zealot’s Embrace by 5 Seconds.

Just my silly view of how some guardian traits should work.

Dare you increasing the cd of my hammer skills!

…i personally like the staff…stood behind a gate yesterday for about half an hour, stopped dealing damage at some point and left the gate only to find about ~10-15 dead bodies lying there

Staff #2 could be changed into…anything i guess, it’s just useless against anything mobile.

I use the hammer too almost exclusively…..because symbol of protection is awesome and i love mighty blow. I only said increase the Cool Down only because i guess as guardians we aren’t supposed to have a snare which why we have that god aweful trait that your hammer maybe could on crit give 4 seconds of fronzen? which is cool and all except the 45second cool down. If you have 1 trait that forces one ability to become 20seconds and another that reduces it by 4 it only increases it 1 second. Im not sure if my math is good enough. =P

Just gimme a bow with ranger or warrior skills and I will be happy. Little design or programming really needed.

The scepter is a bad weapon and not likely to improve.

We don’t need to make mandatory gear treadmills, we make all of it optional

scepter auto need buff and 2.skill need buff too or change to symbol. and why guardians cannot have double scepters?

Scepter really needs a buff/overhaul. PvE it’s fine, the real problem is the very slow moving projectiles in sPvP matches, and even worse in WvW.

Dunno, maybe change skill 1 to be like a direct hit, just like the basilisk mob attack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBHT7_sAX1E

Skill #2 needs to be a symbol in order to get trait bonuses. Off hand scepter? Humm that would open room for a new set of skills, could be awesome…
