Becoming a better medi guard?
For many months now, I have been focusing on learning meditation guardian and getting better at it. In most 1v1 situations, I am confident in my abilities and typically only lose when I am outplayed rather than out classed. However, there is one class that I just cannot beat. This is D/D elementalist. When I face them, the fights always result in a 10 minute plus stalemate, until I make a silly mistake and eventually go down. Can anyone give me advice towards fighting them?
You don’t realize what you have created……not again….
Your spec is not made to couter his , but could you specify what type of d/d?

0/0/2/6/6 I just cannot dish out the damage to beat that spec.
no kitten when you trait like a bunker:D
at least take the II in zeal> +15% dps.

You misread my post. The previous poster asked which ele spec I have trouble with. I run 2-1-6-1-4. I was stating that ele 0-0-2-6-6 is hard countering me.

His spec counters yours. Try 6 2 6 0 0 with doom sigil RF becoming a med migh help as well.
Edit: Time your burst, shelter, evades right he is melee as well, retaliation with range helps as well. I would get Sc and GS damage multipliers, retaliation on heal.

oh my bad:D
if you really want to change ur build to kill an ele, keep poisining him i quess. im running 2/6/6 full zerk atm for fun and i can beat them pretty quickly. but when im running my usual build i have trouble with them aswell. its just a stupidly strong build when they have the ability to stack 20+ might.
I think the sigil of doom is going to be what I need. Thanks guys for the quick responses and solid advice.
If you’re running Zerkers , scepter helps makes this fight much easier to manage. I’ve been able to down D/D eles but it’s mostly because of scepter/ranged option. You will lose if you go double melee, unless the Ele makes big mistakes and doesn’t play smart.

D/D ele is a stall vs. medi
Depends on who makes the first mistake or gets reinforcement
You can also try searing flames in radiance for a bit of boon removal. Might seems to be pretty high on the priority list, but it’s all down to RNG. I was hoping it would get a buff this patch with all of the might stacking going on, maybe something like 2 every 10s, or 1 every 5s.
Sigil of Nullification along with Doom could help. You’ll drop your overall dps without an air/fire but will go a long way in countering a d/d celestial ele.
searing flames wiki: This trait prioritizes removing Might over other boons.
Alright here is the key to killing eles (on any class). No matter what spec they are, yes doom sigil poison application is extremely helpful but the main method is to apply chill just after they attune out of water. This not only slows their movements but increases their cooldown time as well. As water is their main form of healing we want to keep them from using as much as possible. Most eles will use signet of restoration which is their best heal due to its passive, but ether renewal is also popular due to its condition removal though easy to interrupt. Just make sure to have your gs 5 at the ready or any other interrupt skill you might use depending on build preference. If they use stability, then it’s still a success as they wasted it primarily to secure a heal.
