I’m working on getting the Beigarth’s Claymore and wanted to double check that’s my best bet for a more generalized greatsword to cross between dungeon (mostly fractals) and wvw for mostly dps.

Whatever Beigarth may be, just take Berserker stats.

I think he’s asking what ascended stat prefix is best for general use.

So Zojja’s Claymore which is Beserker Stats since damage is nearly always desirable ( especially on a GS ).

Fair warning, if you care about getting the most out of your stats, two handed weapons have poor conversion of stat points into critical damage. If you mix survivability gear into your loadout, your weapons should be some of the first to be swapped into survivability stats along with your chestpiece.

This statement is completely false…

2H weapon – 10% or 134 stats (13.4 stats per % )
Chest – 5% or 72 stats (14.4 stats per % )
Legs – 3% or 48 stats (16 stats per % )
Helm – 2% or 32 stats (16 stats per % )

and actually
1H weapon – 5% or 67 stats, 2H weapon – 10% or 134 stats
they’re identical

It’s not completely false, I just forgot that the critical damage on Ascended weapons was greater than Exotics, for which the satement holds quite true. :p The main thing is that you should always check, which is not something most people do – hence the warning.

I favor and use Beigarth’s (Knight’s). Knight’s is simply more adaptable to multiple builds. Berserker’s will require you to make up for lackluster stats harder than normal while Knight’s gives you (IMO) a better stat spread to work with.
