Guild Wars 2

I have a pretty good team support build I like, but when it comes to dueling people 1v1 in private rooms I don’t really have much of a viable build. Any suggestions for a good guardian build that could take on a necro, warrior or mesmer?

I’m on a phone right now, so I can’t use the gw2 skill builder, but 2-1-6-1-4 is amazing for 1v1 as well as team DPS. Basically it’s a meditation build with scepter/focus and greatsword. If you look around you will find the full build.

This is the best overall. Some builds can be better against certain stuff but this build is the best if you don’t want to change your builds between 1v1s.

Traveler is pretty pointless in 1v1s tbh, it’s nice to disengage but the damage difference is kinda big. Especially against warriors you really notice it.

I’m running this with different sigils. Works extremely well for me. Sword is better over scepter in quite a few duels but in general scepter is better.

You can also run runes of the pack for ~50% uptime on swiftness/fury with 175 power and 125 precision.

Yeah triple meditation is the way to go, it can generally deal enough damage (and fast enough) to catch most players off guard. Personally I find guardian to be one of the weaker 1v1 classes but our team support is just so friggin good I’d never complain. That said I’ve done alright in 1v1 scenarios running a ranged damage build for guardian and I still have a hard time believing that lol.

The guardian is one of the best 1v1 classes in game.
Meditation is the best way to go but there are other viable options as well.

Thank you for the replies! I have a pretty good bunker support build, but I don’t have an efficient build for dueling as while my current build is very tanky, the damage output is average to below average at best.
