Best Weapons/Traits for survivability?
Independent of weapon:
1) Meditation Build. Gotten through the Valor Trait line. Meditation Mastery; Focussed Mind; Monk’s Focus. Skill loadout varies. Your Meditation Skills recharge faster, cast instantly and heal you every time you use one. And they heal for a lot. Judge’s Intervention and Smite Condition are probably the most practical Skills to go with this, but despite the longer cooldowns the other two have their place.
2) Altruistic Healing Build. Another top tier Valor Trait. You’re healed every time you buff someone. You want to combine this with a ready source of Boons, obviously. Shouts work, Renewed Justice with Inspired Virtues works, but my favourite combination includes Empowering Might.
Both of these require a solid investment in Healing Power to be at their most efficient.
For Mace/Shield in particular, you may want to dip deep into Honor and pick up Writ of Persistence at the very least. This will extend Symbol of Faith’s Regeneration by another 2s, meaning you almost always have the Regeneration Boon (enough Boon Duration, Runes of Dwayna or simply mixing in “Hold the Line” and/or “Save Yourselves” will get you to permanence). On top of that you could pick up Writ of the Merciful to get additional healing from that same Symbol. If you really want to go all out you can throw in one of the two methods mentioned above. Should you go with Altruistic Healing, you’ll get healed for everyone who gains the Boon from your Symbol on top of all other sources.
But that might be overkill.
i run an AH build with the hammer, along with a focus on high crit (still trying to get it up higher!) since many traits rely / synergize well with crits. i maxed both valor (for AH) as well as Honor (good vit, some healing and i love the traits) since i run with a hammer, i picked up larger symbols, two handed mastery (shorter CD’s on 2h weps) and also symbols heal.
i then run a staff as my second weapon set (but change it around depending on situation). empower alone (placing stacks of might onto yourself and allies) will heal a BUNCH with AH.
i feel i can survive QUITE a bit with this build. i am running 0/5/30/30/5 if you’re so inclinced. a few i know run a similar build but with 0/0/30/30/10 and make up for precision / crit change % in gear. the extra 5 pts in Virtues help with boon duration as well as pick up a trait in that line.
you can check out the crithammer build for more detailed discussions : )))
lotta reading but well worth it

Well i m running a 0/20/30/20/0 build with knights armor (power/prec/thoug)
I can easly take on a veteran 4 levels higher then me (i m only lvl74 at this moment) without loosing health (end of the fight still above 95% of my health)
I don’t stack healing power because it scale badly.
I try to put my precision as high as i can but don’t put to many in crit damage
With this build and running with a mace/focus i can take on lots of enemys and heal my teammates. Everything you do will heal you
