Bifrost on guard
Staff 2 I believe does. Rest of the skills don’t
I’ve started to see an increase in the amount of guards with Bifrost. Unfortunately I’ve no idea about special effects. Honestly, if you like staff on a guard, go for it
doesn’t seem worth it in my opinion, considering that our staff1 is already rainbows and unicorns
Come over to e’bay. There is at least one Guardian sporting Bitfrost that I see regularly.
Johnny Johnny – Ranger (Ehmry Bay)
Hárvey Wallbanger – Alt Warrior (Ehmry Bay)
There are better legendaries to give to a Guard. But if you already have Bolt/Twilight/Sunrise/Juggernaut or whatever, sure, get a Bifrost.
^ Since I do have all of those, I thought I’d share.
The only extra effects, besides the Bifrost aura is the Orb of Light.
For the love of god, don’t be a bowbear guard!! Staff is the crappiest of our weapons and unless you got endless funds/time or a credit card or rich parents, its the biggest waste to put that on a guard. Get something useful like Jugg, either of the GS, or even Bolt.
Am I legendary yet!?

No.
- - Good for tagging multiple targets. Hits through walls. Not the best damage but good utility and tag-mobs-for-massive-loot-ness.
- - Longer range, low cooldown, decent damage, heals.
- - Damage and swiftness. Spam this in WvW when zerging.
- - I shouldn’t even explain. 12 might stacks to your whole party with at least a 50% uptime, depending on boon duration. Also an area heal. Also a massive personal heal if you have Altruistic Healing.
- - Area denial, will buy extra time in any area of the game.
Definitely not a crappy weapon. It’s meant for support, not for damage. If you want to support your party as a Guardian, then 90% of the time you’ll use one. Just because you equate damage dealing capabilities with usefulness, doesn’t mean that the weapon is useless.
As for the topic of Bifrost itself, I quite like it. It’s the perfect amount of rainbow-ness to not make my Charr guard look silly, and we already spam rainbows with #1.

I’m pretty sure that above poster is talking about PVE, where staff is indeed a terrible main weapon set. It has decent utility in some parts (though Empower is a poor substitute for organised might-stacking), but the terrible damage means that you should rarely, if ever, be using it in combat.
Of course, if you have money to burn and adore the appearance of the staff on a guardian, by all means go for it.
Even for WvW, staff is really only useful in zerg fights, which you probably don’t have time to appreciate the effects anyways. Put it on a class where you can actually appreciate the effects imo.

Oh God, Staff is the Guardian equivalent to Bearbow and this response was the prototypical Bearbow user response.
1) It’s a crap weapon in PvE. End of story. It offers utility to be sure, but it’s a crap weapon outside of farming/tagging mobs.
2) Might stacking. Lol, just lol. It pulses 3 times giving 4 stacks of might each time. By the end of the final pulse, the first 4 stacks are about ready to expire. If you want to help stack might bring Fire Fields from Consecrations and coordinate Blast finishers. Voila, mucho might and you didn’t even have to stop attacking for very long to get them.
3) You claim it’s a “support” weapon which is precisely why you shouldn’t be using it except to tag mobs and in those encounters where line of warding is handy. Why? Because the best support HANDS DOWN is DPS support. Want to help your group survive an encounter? Burn that encounter down faster.
4) WHO STILL USES ALTRUISTIC HEALING??
Woah, caps hard.
I use AH because sometimes, well often, you can’t expect everyone to run full zerk and I don’t feel inclined forcing down people’s throats on how to play the game for what is otherwise really easy dungeons. Plus I’m lazy and AH is still OK in WvW zergs.
@Radwolf
Looks like Kilandros beat me to the response. Not much more I can add here except staff is still a bowbear version for the guard. And as for the AH part, well I guess if you are advocating staff so much, I shouldn’t be surprised that you also like AH. I personally am a full ascended zerker guard with hammer since they buffed hammer and I cringe when I see a guard MHing a staff in the group. I just imagine that the ranger pet is doing more dmg than that guard :p

Before I used the Staff more becouse of SoS, now with the “nerf/buff” on it I’d say that I have no reason to use it. Before the “nerf/buff” I was considering to get one too, but I don’t think that will worth it.
In PvE, the Staff is a fantastic opener. Mobs bounce off the LoW, while sucking up the symbol, while you stack Might on your team, all at the same time. Swap to another weapon and jump in. I don’t swap to it in combat much, though.
I used to love staff when I was a AH guard. I dropped it after going dps.
Staff is only really good for WvW zerg tagging for all the loot bags.
