Binding blades tracks through stealth, why?
Any skill cast before stealth actually occurs will track through stealth. I haven’t seen anything track stealth after its already gone through. Some aoe skills like life transfer could potentially do it, but I actually forget if that works.
Actually it does track through stealth. I don’t know why it does, but I like it
The reason is Stealth is godawful powerful in this game and doesn’t break on being damaged so there needs to be some sort of counter-play .
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Well it’s not a channeled skill and it requires no target. It simply flies to whatever possible target is near and that includes stealthed targets.
Because we are in a good spot, and you are in bad spot obvious
Because we need it to… it offers counterplay against a class that’s already difficult to beat 1v1. Daredevil is going to be a nightmare to fight against.
Do experienced Thieves have play their heart out to beat an experienced Guard? Absolutely, they can definitely beat us 1v1. Can an experienced Guard play their heart out to beat an experienced Ele? Nope.

all attacks hit through stealth if you know where to aim, so its nothing special about the ability in particular. binding blade is an area effect so as long as there within that range its gonna hit them. I’ve killed many a stealth thief with mighty blow on hammer just because I guess where I think they moved to and aim for that spot.
Any projectile that auto targets in an area work in the same way, a great example would be the thieves own ability, dagger storm. These abilities dont require a target, and actively attack targets when they are in the range of attack, The big difference is that since these are projectiles, they still track a character in stealth since it doesnt require a target to activate. Much like any bouncing projectiles can hit a target in stealth as well, with their bounces, it only checks to see if there is a viable target in the area, not the fact that they are stealthed or not.

dis guy gits it
Why wouldn’kitten It pulls in anything within range. When you are stealthed you are there just not visible.
Yes BB does track through stealth. This is one of the main reason Guardian can counter a Thief (or a Mesmer…). If we can force them to emergency-stealth… We can pull them out of SR (if this is the source of the stealth or estimate their position and land a leap+WW or a Smite or MightyBlow, or whatever.
You as a Thief player should have be prepared for this as soon as you see a Greatsword like we Guards have to be prepared to get a 6k Backstab out of nowhere if we see a Dagger…
I am prepared to never win against a Thief 1v1 who wants to reset the fight… I have between zero and nil chance… Such is the life…
Does this make me a crybaby? Nope… I accept my build and I know my limits.
My two cents…

Uh what?
Thieves can reset sure. But their margin for error is a lot lower han any class during a duel.
I can’t remember the last time i lost vs a thief on any class. Either run or just eventually they make a mistake and lose.
