Guild Wars 2

Hi all,
Since launch I’ve tried all the classes but have only leveled guardian to 80 because I just don’t like the feel of the other classes. I play mostly solo PvE with a little WvW.
Anyways, I’m in the mood to try a new build, and was thinking of something centered around blinds (2h,1h sword, focus, VoJ) and burning to trigger the extra 10% damage from the Zeal line. I went meditations for condition removal plus a little extra healing, but am wondering if signets would be better. Haven’t picked the runes…couldn’t decide what I should focus on for them. Ideas?

You’re better off dropping Signet of Wrath. If my math is correct it’s only going to add ~40 more dmg to your burns. That is barely noticeable, but the active is nice so you can keep it for that if you want.

Since this is a burning build it seems like Flame Legion would be a good choice for runes.

Aye, when i was making my guardian i really wanted to make my own brand new ‘’burning guardian’’ build with the idea focusing around on both condi dmg and some extra healing pow as well as just enough prec. Hanvnt made it yet but still not giving up on a idea so i wish you success with yours. I also thought about using flame legion runes and another thing id suggest you to use rare veggie pizza as nourishment as it gives 40%condi duration and 70condi dmg. A bit pricey it is tho

The risky thing about speccing for condition damage as a guardian is that you really only have one reliable damaging condition. You won’t get a whole lot of extra damage out of those burns even if you have 100% uptime. Think about how much dps you will do with that burning over direct damage and critical hits. With high condition damage, you’ll maybe get an extra 200-300 damage per second from those burns, whereas each hit of your sword, when specced right, can hit for double or more its base damage.

I use a Blind/Fire build for farming ORR.

I use this with a Magic find set and come off pretty decent on the ORR farming events.
I also use same build to farm Centaur in WvW.

Edit: This build will not make you a powerhouse in WvW
I also agree with Flame Legion being good runes for the build.
