They are probably either going to nerf the way that combo field interaction works, or go overboard and nerf conditions overall.

I guess we can all agree that Anet succeeded in their goal of finally making condi guardian a thing.

I really hope that burning guard is still viable after the nerf.

Haha, Had no idea you could stack combo fields! That’s really the only nerf we need.. combo fields being unstackable?

The burn damage ratio on guardian is fine. Cleanses can still counter a burn guard.. not to mention any Diamond Skin Ele’s walking around. Guardian’s burst is still very much predictable, imo.

No one should be getting their hopes up. Arena net already said condition damage and some trait combos are over the top. Just look at the rangers, they already got hit and it is nowhere as bad as this.

Frankly I think they should give out access to the resistance boon to every class in varying amounts.

Then they can see how much things need to be nerfed.

i wish i had screen shotted it but on my ele i got 44 stacks of burning as a condi build. over like 14k tics

This only works with 5+ closely packed targets, there’s no way this deserves a nerf. It would never be reproducible in any PvP capacity, and it doesn’t really matter in PvE.

It’s doable in WvW, but not so much sPvP. I tried, but there’s just too much dodging, cleanse, cc, etc. to really be reliable or even fun. Best I got was 15 stacks.

If anything should get a nerf it’s Rune of Fire and Rune of Air. This type of burst stacking is possible because both of those runes count as hits towards Virtue of Justice passive procs. With Supreme Wrath, you can trigger Virtue of Justice multiple times using a single skill. And of course this makes Permeating Wrath trigger multiple times using a single skill.

No nerf!

On my condi build, Purging Flames does 11k damage alone.

Burning is low duration burst condition thats all, you must hit all spells on this. Poison,confusion and bleeding make more total DMG.
Power build make more DMG and better burst when hit all spells =)

I guess that is the reason why everyone is crying about poison, confusion and bleeding.^^

burn condi burst is so strong at the moment that you do not need any of the other condition – at least on guard and ele.

uh what is the OP showing? damaged stacked on npc’s ? how does that even come close to real combat situations/builds . I don’t get it.

It doesn’t. These burn stacks will never be reachable in tpvp.
