Guild Wars 2

I was on my Guardian in WvW and came across a defender that was a Guardian. We fight for around 2 minutes solo and I noticed that the player was using a GS but the attacks looked like the one hander and shield animations. Another two of my teammates decided to jump and in the enemy player just stopped taking damage for way longer than any ability that a Guardian has. It took three players everything that they could do to kill this guy. He actually killed two of us before we killed him. Later on, I saw the same player soloing four enemies in the jumping puzzle. Does this seem legit?

Some of the animations are similar to a 1h sword on a guardian, and it’s possible they can solo quite a few players (with the right build and skill)

The shield skills look a lot like some of our utilities, and like ref pointed out, some of the one-handed sword animations aren’t all that different from the GS ones. Renewed Focus alone is has a has duration of three seconds (5 seconds traited), so that combined with blocks and blinds can keep you from taking damage for a pretty long time if you decide to blow all your defenses at once.

Not sure if this was me or not (I’ve got a bit of a knack for 1vX encounters in T2), but if it was…I stack healing power and play very defensively when I get jumped by more than one player. It just looks like I’m not being damage when I have as much passive regen as I do and can dodge as often as I’m able to.

If it wasn’t me, well, they might have being rolling a meta bunker build. That’ll keep you alive for days if played correctly.

Edit: I don’t know anything about the weird animations you were seeing though.

It just means he’s got better specs then you for fighting multiple opponents.

You should have paid more attention to what boons he had, and what kind of skills he used instead of paying attention to what his GS skills looked like. Then we could probably make a more educated guess at what he was using.
