Guardian can make their own combo and finish it in a variety of ways that other classes do not have the functuality to finish and create so many of their own.

Ways to create Combo Fields Or Combo Finishers for GS

1. Whirl is a Combo Finisher
2. Leap is a Leap Finisher
3. Symbol that counts as a Light Combo Field
4. Binding Blade is a Finisher

This is one weapon, The Greatsword. Now, name another class or another guardian weapon and show me where he can set up a Combo Field, and finish his Combo Finisher with a variety of 3 skills.

Most classes have strictly Combo Fields or Combo Finishers and its very rare to find such versatility in the GS. I like it

Can you name me a class that can do this? This was on only 1 weapon remember if you have to lay down field>>fast switch to alt wep>>>finish the combo that would be acceptable.

But name some classes. Name some weapon combos. Name your favorite type of combo to setup, and finish with.

Well hammer has a very reliable blast finisher.
If you have a mesmer or two in your group then you can keep chaos armor up ALOT.

Going back to the GS, Whirling Wrath in a fire field gives you a nice dps boost ( we can use purging flames and hallowed ground to do this ourselves ).

Asura’s get a nice cultural poison bolt combo with that WW too when coupled with a Radiation field generator.

Also, if all of my condition removal skills are on CD, then I’ll lay down Symbol of Wrath and do a whirl finisher inside it to clense a pesky condition ( luckily the GS has 2x whirls ).

People often overlook Wall of Reflection’s light field which is extremely powerful at clearing conditions if you drop it infront of your ranged allies.

as of late, been tryin running a build with Hammer and GS. this gives you 3 lightfields – GS Symbol of Wrath, albeit one being at the end of hammer chain one for Symbol of Protection, Ring of Warding also acts as a light field.

so depending on the situaton, you can cleanse conditions, give AoE retaliation, give yourself even more retaliation, etc etc… a short combo i sometimes open up with either WW or Binding Blades with Judge’s into a group, drop symbol of wrath —> retal, leap —> more retal → switch to hammer, might blow —> AoE retal. and then i start hammering away. you can mix and match easily depending on the situation.

throw in purging flames (condi removal, burn, flaming bolts + AoE might is fun as well) and you can do a lot more.

IIRC, a D/D Elemetalist has 3 fire fields, one projectile finisher, and 3 blast finishers.

Ranger: Leap finisher through fire and water fields with heal and torch skills.
Ele: Blast finisher in fire/water/air/ice
thief: leap/blast into shadow/poison/ethereal fields
engie: projectile/blast through a lot of fields depending on kits
necro: blast/projectile through shadow/poison fields
mesmer: leap/whirl through light/ethereal fields
warrior: blast/leap/whirl/projectile through fire field

I’m sure I’m missing some, but thats what I can think of off the top of my head
