Hi all. In my spare time I thought I would theory craft my own specializations for my own amusement. This is the concept I created for the guardian.

For this concept I really wanted to give more access to retaliation and aegis. I divided the traits so you have to choose between more retaliation or more aegis. Main hand shield lacks in mobility but makes up for it in defense

Juggernaut

Gains shield main-hand (thats right double shield baby).

Auto attack-180 range. 3rd chain-skill applies 2s of cripple.

Shield charge- Charge at your opponent, knocking them down. 600 range. 12s cd.

Fortified Armor- Create a wall around you that reflects projectiles on anyone within it for the next 5 seconds. Once the wall goes down you and all allies around you gain 3s of protection. 25s icd

New utilities are Stances

Defender’s Stance- You take 20% less damage. Conditions applied to you have 33% less duration. 6 Seconds. 40s cd

Charged Stance- Reduce Cooldowns of all weapon skills by 50%. 50s cd.

Steady Stance- Gain 5 stacks of stability. Grant 2 stacks of stability to allies behind you in a cone. 400 range. 30s icd

Virtues become Wards

Ward of Justice-Burn is now weakness. Passive gives 2s of weakness every 5 attacks. Active is 5s of weakness 240 radius.

Ward of Resolve-Gain 2s of retaliation every 10seconds. Active gain 5 seconds of retaliation to you and nearby allies. Also damages and knocksdown enemies in the area 240 radius.

Ward of Courage- Grants 2s of protection every 5 attacks. Active is pulse aegis every second for the next 3 seconds.
Traits

Adept

Inherent Resolve-Whenever you recieve damage more than 10% of your health gain 3s of retaliation.

Face your Fear- Gain Aegis for 4s when dazed or stunned. 10s icd.

Healed Wound-A Condition applied to you has a 5% chance of becoming a boon. 10s icd

Minor

Bouncing Aegis- Aegis additionally reflects projectiles.

Intrepid Path- Stances have 20% reduced cooldown and give swiftness.

Holy Light- Gain light aura at 50% health.

Master

Steady Wards-Activating a ward grants you and allies 1 stack of stability for 4s.

Back at You- Retaliation does 15% more damage.

Can’t Touch This- Cleanse a condition everytime aegis is applied.

Grandmaster

Sacrafice-If your health goes below 10% while ressing a downed ally they will be revived regardless of health.

Improved Defences-Your auto attacks have a 5% chance to knockdown enemies. Knockdown lasts 1 second longer.

Whirl of Cleansing-Whenever a symbol is placed whirl affect is automatically applied.

GM Traits look kinda meh, maybe put some hard CC or healing there. Missed the duration on charged stance aswell. I really like the pulsing Aegis idea tho. Thumbs up.

Cool ideas, but what is the exact reasoning behind posting this here? Do you have the hope that anet will consider this?
My dream is that one day all classes have lots of specializations. But with this rate, I highly doubt this will ever happen.

If anet considered this it wouldn;t be for another 3 years probably lol. I just thought this concept was better than the dragonhunter.

I also think this build would fit its name more if it had more knockdowns in it. I’ll play around with the traits and wards.

Shield 5 is already a projectiles defense, no need for another one.
Here is my take on this concept:

shield 1- Bouncing shield, 900 range bounce off 3 target grant might on each bounce

shield 2- Symbol of avenging, 600 range charge at target create a symbol that grant stability.

shield 3- Final justice, like the revenant sword 3 a 7 hit combo attack ended with a knock down, 120 range.

Reaper was base on Jason Voorhees, so its ok for this to base on a Marvel character.
