Continous guardian nerfs make me infuriated
I tried to like your post but it seems to be broken.
The things we’re too good at are way easier to fix than our shortcomings.
If nerfs like this make you infuriated, I wonder what actually serious nerfs do for your temper.
Its a serious nerf, I got my traits set for better symbols (greater radius, more damage, heal allies, 20% lower gs recharge). And now it got double recharge time.

What happened to Anet we can play our class in whatever way we want and still be effective? Now even more of our traits are bad.
I wanted to buy some gems today to buy character and bank slots, guess anet doesnt want my money, because I will certainly hold off before buying any gems. Dont tell me to trade gold for gems, because I am saving up my gold for a Dawn of Rage.

What kind of nonsense is that? The only thing with the change is that Symbol build does not work that well for the GS anymore. GS is still an excellent weapon. Or do you want every build with any weapon to be effective? Why don’t you make a Symbol build with 1H Sword? :p
Its not nonsense. Now with this nerf I do less damage, less healing and have less reteliation all in once. Doesnt seem fair.
1h sword is not my kind of weapon. Greatsword looks much better on my maximum sized norn.
How exactly one should do a symbol build with a 1H sword?

I dont care about PVP, if something is overpowered in PVP they can split skills like in GW1. No need to punish PVE players, too.
This is guild wars 2. That’s the way that Anet think what a guardian should be. The game is not build for any single player.
I am sorry for your situation. You paid the money and get this kind of return.
You can still play the greatsword guardian. It’s just weaker than before, but greatsword is still a usable weapon.
You can switch to another weapon or play another profession after every patch. More things will change in the following patches.
If you don’t like the continuous change that ruin your fun, I suggest you play warrior.
Warrior is already a mature profession. Yes. Maybe I can play a warrior like a guardian.
P.S. I have played elementalist for a long time before I play guardian. But now I realize I should play warrior because I don’t have that much time for adapting to a game. It’s Anet’s game, so just play the game in their way.
I actually find it quite amusing. I imagine many of you don’t play Necromancer…
…but aside the point, Guardians stand as one of the most OP classes in spvp and WvW (I have an 80 Guardian as well). They were receiving buff after buff after buff after buff since BWE1.
Now that you take 1 little hit, there’s QQ all over the place. This amuses me.

Then if this little needle prick in the infinite power of the Guardian is still so glaringly infuriating by comparison, you may wear a fancy new Dunce hat and sit with your nose in the corner.
I play both classes and can tell you I’ve only found 1 bug with the necromancer.
Necromancers overall have been balanced or even buffed since release.
Guardians have been nerfed each patch since release (go back and read please) and have been the only class to experience complete reworking of their skill slots without ability to reorder them without rebinding and screwing up 3 other weapon sets in the process.

I’m sure glad we now know all the issues with Necromancers as well.
@Enerjak: Could you make such a comprehensive list of the Guardian’s beta buffs? Also, beta is for figuring out how a profession should be. You can’t truly speaks of buffs and nerfs in it.
Wow you’re a parent talking like you are? And you’re going off calling other people childish? Maybe you should give yourself a time-out, cool off, and take another look at people’s responses before responding with emotion.
Must admit that the actual nerf hasn’t infuriated me, I played a ret pala for 7 yrs in wow so I’m used to getting buffed then shafted over and over again. But the skill swaps in GS now that has annoyed me.
EnerjakMy solitary point was: Compare your Guardian to the Necromancer in current state, educating yourself on the actual state of both professions, and try to say with a straight face Necromancer is working fine and is well balanced with 1 bug, and this recent patch is such a horrendous disaster.
We know your mad about your bugs. We know you want them fixed. We see that you believe them to have priority. If you’ve posted on your own forums about these bugs then what exactly are you doing here? Sounds like your trying to get a pity party for your profession… oddly enough from the Guardians who are also having to deal with major issues as well.
If you’d like a compiled list of bugs..
Renewed Focus – Doesn’t actually make you invulnerable while casting. Players can still attack, stun, knockdown, etc.
Ring of Warding – Players can jump over, dodge through, teleport
Leap of Faith – Often misses target sending you above their heads resulting in a “Miss” and no Blind Activation.
Shield of Absorbtion – Sometimes activating the first part of this skill (Generating the Bubble) doesnt allow for the use of the second part (Denotation) and often goes wasted.
Hammer of Wisdom (Command) – Tool tip on the command ability states having a 1200 unit range, when activated the hammer will only fly about half that (roughly 600 units), often times falling short of the target. The hammer will not even try to follow up by using standard attacks on the target it will simply be destroyed (or if traited with Eternal Spirit will just return to you) wasting the commands activation.
Judge’s Intervention – Often causes you to either teleport into a wall in which you are stuck in (have to way point out and spend money on top of that). Or teleport below game ground level and fall to your doom(this happen less often then the first in most cases)
Hold The Line – Doesnt play a sound clip saying anything (dont know if its an actual bug)
Symbol of Swiftness (Staff) – Often doesnt apply boons even when clearly walking through it
And these are only the ones i’ve experienced regularly (except for the hammer one, i dont use spirit weapons.)
Every class has its bugs, some more then others, sure. Dont think that your any more entitled then us.

If you could properly quote, you might be right. They never said they don’t care what you have to say. I do believe what they said was, “No one cares about your necromancer problems…” And how did defending your ego over a game forum turn into a governmental debate?
@Enerjak: Please do list them. The only major changes I remember in Beta were a change in our healthpool (we got less health) and a change in the range of some skills (that didn’t really help the issue we had).
And I’m really sorry your pet profession has issues. I genuinely mean that. Really. But this is not the place to discuss that. Just because Necromancers have it worse, doesn’t mean we can’t debate the issues troubling our favorite profession.
I must be missing something, we got nerfed? goes and reads patch notes Oh, right, the GS symbol got moved. Don’t use GS, don’t run a symbol build. To quite Trehearne: “moving on”.
Edit: I just remembered that I do in fact use a GS in sPvP. Recently switched to it from a hammer. Still not raging though because I still don’t run a symbol build and switched to the GS from a hammer because of whirling. So the change is actually better for me.

Everything else aside, “stop whining because other people have it worse” is an absolutely terrible argument in a game. Necro issues deserve to be looked at, I’m not arguing that. But this forum is where Guardian issues are looked at. And just because Necro’s nowhere near where it should be does not mean we lose the right to tell ANet what we think about their changes to the Guardian.
So, amid all these cries of nerfs….how about we start up a few threads on weapon builds like the crithammer thread? That’s helped out a lot of people to understand the mechanics of traits, weapons and skills. I’d rather see a dedicated thread to helping people understand how to use the GS, instead of a million threads crying about the same thing. If no one can find a good breadth of builds, then I think we can really cry foul.

Most of those are not bugs with the Necromancer, just things that don’t work the way you would wish them to.

I completely agree with you. Too many people complaining about what was changed insetad of trying to figure out how to change their game plan or understand how other mechanics work. Definitely think there should be a sticky created dedicated to the new GS gameplay.
This thread is being locked, as it has turned away from its topic to a guardian vs. necromancer argument.
