how important is crit for a dps build? I want to make a hybrid between damage and survival-ability by alternating toughness gear with precision gear. is that pointless to do or can it work?

Knights gear FTW. You get precision and toughness in one set.

yet, your first question is rahter stange.. if you want a dps build which is damage per second optimisation and crits increase your damage your question is kind of moot..

if you want something in between why care for what is important on a ps build.

luckily you chose the class that is the closest to optain both at the sam time.

I have full sets of knight’s on my ranger, warrior and partial set on my guardian(got some karma gear to add HP on guardian). Knight’s has an amazing balance of damage and durability.

If you get a combination of knight’s gear and karma gear with Vit, Prec and Healing you can get around 50% crit rate without putting a single point into the Radiance trait line, allowing you to use your traits to make whatever tanky build you want.

Zerker gear w/ Beryl jewelery and a x/x/30/20/x build is a nice start to see where you need to tweek, for DPS but not ‘glass cannon’…. because when you crit, you want it to mean something.
