Hi guys
First of, sorry if the text is confusing, some days the english flows better than others.

Well Guardian is the class I’ve played the most, I don’t play it since lauch but my “main” is a Guardian (not sure yet, still, the class I play better and know better).
Said this I want to start to think on my own build. By my own I mean though entirely be myself even if theres similiar build or not, I can asure this build that I will show results of my thinking, and the knowledge I have about the class so far. All the build that I’ve tested with the Guardian so far are either Support or Bunker so I wanted a more Damage build, but I don’t want to go full Zerker, I want to be able to still survive for quite a while.
I got 2 builds for this, in both build I get more critical damage and chance, as obvious to be a Damage build, but i think I made it without sacrifice all my survivability. But beside that I try to get more damage by other ways
Both build are intended to be used in PvE and WvW (Roaming)

This is the first build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUAQNAR7dlUgSDHHyKEgIFSuA7DAEmCCMjueARUUDB-j0yAoNioZKCM9JQUhkl8KiGblrIasqZA1CmqMyqzk6PY0qlCgiFAA-w

In this build the other way is trying to get as many Might as I can, since Might is problably one of if not the boon that we Guardian get the most, at least with GS the weapon that I want to use

This is the second build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUAQNAR7dlUgSDHHyKEgIFi9BAqqQ8gfgAveoQUUDB-jkyAoNioZKCM9JQJvioxW8KiGraGQtgpKjs6Mp+DGtapAoYBA-w

In this build the other way is trying to do more damage while the target is on fire, and since burning is the only condition Guardians can get without the affect of Sigils or Runes I’m trying to get the max of it

From both I think that the second is capable of more damage since it focus on a condition and not a boon, but the other one as a bit more of survivability, but I’m not sure if it is enough to compensate the the amount of extra damage that I get in the second option.

I choosed GS and S/F because, GS I think is the best weapon Guardian can get for a Damage role, S/F because Scepter is the best option for range combat, and when I focus in Damage with classes I always like to have a ranged weapon, we never know when it might be useful and Focus because is a really nice off-hand IMO if you look for a bit more survivability, and as I said I want to have a bit while able to do some damage. If I get in group I will switch to S/S
Now this isn’t a 100% focused on damage build as you have already seen, and I think that 50% Crit Damage is enough if I still want the survivability that I have here, because to get more crit now I would have to take out Healing Power, and I still have plenty of Regeneration and heals (heal on dodge, and more dodges because of Vigorous Precision, and Sigil of Energy) so it is nice to have at least 500 Healing Power IMO if I want to at least notice the diference.

I think this pretty much all I have to say, please tell me what do you think of it and if could work or not. I will only used one of these builds so tell me which would be better for what I want and change it if you think that the build would be better with different set of stats/trait/etc…

Btw I’ve heard that we will get a trait that gice us Fury when we use a Meditation, so that also one of the reasons that I want to use them

Scepter will potentially output the highest damage I’ve seen but it’s single target, and its not the best against moving targets. All other weapons can very close in damage output other than staff which is a bit lower.* Traits that give you % damage increases are the best to kick up DPS. Fiery Wrath, Radiant Power, Elusive Power, Unscathed Contender and Power of the Virtuous not mentioning specific weapon traits. Fiery Wrath and Radiant Power are very dependable which is why a 10/25/x/x/x build is good.

I ran a 10/30/0/30/0 build for a long time and completed most of my Dungeon Master title with it. It has utility and versatility to help optimize most weapons which comes in handy. 20/25/0/25/0 is good if you really want GSword. 20/25/0/0/25 Scepter has the highest theoretical damage potential, GSword works well here too. Healing comes from Omnomberry Pie and Sigil of Blood I run on Scepter along with other passive heals, also Zealous Blade is small but noticeable heals.

If fury on Meditations comes in I’ll be running 10/25/30/5/0 most likely.

*from my personal testing, I urge you to confirm this on your own.

Hi,

As far as a damage build, this is a good choice, runs along similar vein, GS/Staff here a solid enough combination
20/15/10/20/5 here.
for power running II extra damage vs. burning and VII for a little extra Gs specialisation
For Precision just IV,
toughness I for Meditations
Healing power II larger symbols, affected by power traits, and 2Hmastery for 20% recharge

first of all 20 in the power traitline gives a nice 2k base hit with the gs, can be further upgraded by staff buff.
the 15 in zeal is for the rapid recast of Justice, with the extra blinds from this recast trait IV in precision can reach stacks of 25 vulnerability on all adjacent creatures depending on the number of enemies.
10/20 in toughie and heals for the obligatory support, switching out meditation recharge for the ally toughness boost when its needed. and of course almost any guardian build needs the 5 in boons, for the might you can get with F1 rapid recasting.

the rapid cast of f1 on kill, allows for an offensive defence, you can effectively perma blind your opponents, +Vuln, and Might for yourself, it evens the odds against tougher opponents who usually rely on CrowdControl and/or mass retaliation to beat their opponents. while also buffing allies around you exponentially according to the number of enemies who go down. It’s an exponential class, its pretty basikittenil opponents start to go down >:D. that is when things get interesting.

Currently Running a mix of knights and PVT armour as would befit WvW, Zerker Gs of Bloodlust and a clerics staff of restoration, Cleric Zerker and PvT ascended accessories.

Skills are SaveYourselves, Sig of Judgement (10% of a lot of damage is still a lot) and Judges intervention, which less experienced players may wish to switch out for StandyourGround.

Good Luck, hope this helped.
