Does anyone know how much power is +10% damage? I’ve tried searching for this answer and didn’t find a thing.

Thanks!

You want to know how much extra power you will need to do the same thing as +10% damage?
If so that math would be personal to you and not a set number. Even if you did the math +10% would still be better i’m sure.

It is impossible to really gauge that, since they are a direct relation to damage. The more power you have, the more damage that 10% extra is going to do. The real thing you have to compare is the uptime of the damage %, and if it will be worth it to go for a more direct damage trait than a situation based one.

Things like radiant power, and elusive power are pretty easy to keep up. Fiery wrath is based on how often something is going to be burning, so it really depends on your build, or if you run with someone who burns alot. Unscathed contender (20% with aegis up) is extremely situational, and is the biggest risk/reward when it comes to our damage modifiers.

+X% more damage done is equivalent to +X% more power.

e.g. Sigil of force gives 5% more dmg done. I have 2k power on average. Meaning Force is equal to a 100 Power boost to me. Thus if I can have 10 or more stacks of bloodlust on average, I’m better off with Sigil of bloodlust.

I have a burning build with fiery wrath and radiant power. With my condition set, I was wondering if the loss of power was worth it compared to the +20% damage modifier from those two skills and unscathed contender. This pretty much answers my question though.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Unfortunately, that number will be incorrect in most all situations. Percentage based damage modifiers behave multiplicatively with one another. If you have 10% from traits, 10% from a slaying potion, and 5% from force your total increase will be (1.1*1.1*1.05)=1.27 or a 27% modifier, not 25%. This effect is is greatly increased with each subsequent damage modifier.

In other words, the more % modifiers you have the more valuable power is. If you’re looking to see the largest return in damage go with Force/% Modifiers. If you want bloodlust stacks too, I very highly recommend stacking it with a second weapon and swapping back to force once you’re at 25.

Umm, I’ll repeate
+X% more damage done is equivalent to +X% more power.
And is always correct, no matter what other modifiers you have.

1.1*1.05*2000 = (1.1*1.05)2000 = 1.1(1.05*2000) cmon :P
That force is still 100 power, other modifiers have nothing to do with that.

Damage multipliers get more effective the more power you can give them at the top end.

With 2000 base power you are basically at a point of equilibrium where the effect of a Force sigil is more or less the same as 10 stacks of bloodlust. ( as you have found )

If had 3000 base power then you’d see a much better effect from Force than from bloodlust ( but still only about +200 damage ).

With 2000 power the moment you gain some Might you’d get more benefit from Force than from bloodlust. As Kelnis pointed out, modifiers are also multiplicative, not additive – so it’ll stack better with critical damage and other bonuses for instance.

As others have pointed out, there is no reason not to have bloodlust AND force in your build.

If you are interested in some of the maths, then this thread explores the maximum damage potential of a guardian including most reasonably attainable modifiers a power bonuses.
