Dem traps dough
We finally have a use for Traps then! (only requires 30 Dragonhunters to make them viable)
:/
There is no ‘finally’ as use for traps; that’s EXACTLY how traps are supposed to be used from the get go. The only ‘finally’ here is that there is finally people figuring out how to use them effectively instead of QQing about how bad they are.
Well – its a good thing they’re usefull in one instance… kinda like Sanctuary… and we all know how much gameplay that sees….
/facepalm
Organized Ranger guilds have done this in wvw with similar effects. This is exactly where traps shine, in chokepoints. Thieves could do it theoretically, but thief traps work very different.
SMC is a great place to use traps to defend. 3 lights judgements on the entrance to each hallway can counter veils and ninja portals. The other traps can completely wreck people wandering around the lord’s room. Dazes, Permeating Wrath procs, and cripple everywhere will make for some interesting lord room fights.
Oh trust me I wasn’t complaining I thought it was kitten awesome rofl just glad we have a lot of guards on our side too
That is what I’ve been trying to convince people of for awhile. The traps have potential. They’re not properly tuned at the moment, but their high direct damage means that trap stacking with Dragonhunters is far more dangerous than it is with thieves and rangers.
Also, because of PoB and LJ’s multihit properties, it opens up nasty condition and especially hybrid builds with Permeating Wrath. The possibility of aoe cripple from Zealot’s Aggression makes it even scarier.
Yea we actually took advantage of the traps. It was hard to find a use in big zerg fights but we found one. There were certain vulnerable sides the enemy could have flanked us at that most zerg leaders would have taken advantage of and or avoided depending on which side you’re on. We ended up setting a bunch of traps on a vulnerable side to bait the flank and when they did (and they did) we quickly turned around and dropped wells etc. It was a blood bath. They thought they had the upper hand and boom, we were collecting our bags.
Thank god for all those narrow streets or narrow places in guild wars 2 where we can put our OP traps.
/sarcasm off now

LOL yup…..
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Thinking that they will somehow nerf traps because of stacking makes me laugh.
If you played GW1, you’d know Anet is very familiar with saving traps. The well known Trap Ranger would have around 6 of their 8 slots dedicated to traps, and would be able to stack the same trap 2-3 times for anywhere from 12-18 traps per character. You could solo farm sections of the hardest dungeon and even certain pvp formats this way.
