Did it help? -Meditation Fury
It made my sPvP build do a bit more damage… but otherwise no, its just not worth taking. Too many other traits in the Valor line outshine it such as Strength in numbers, Purity, Retributive armor. If you run burst guard it might be ok, but at the moment, that is not guardian’s strength in any playstyle, mostly because of what A-Net has done to to class in general.

Absolutely not. Only a couple second, meh.

Well, sad to hear so far. Was hoping I would be wrong with with the hype pre patch and things would be different.
Yep, pretty much ~exactly~ like I said it would be….
MEH.
It’s ok though, all the fanfare about how good it was going to be did make the build up humorous.
50% boon duration and it starts the work alright so the issue is that in order to make use of the fury we need to bunker down even more. So basically it pidgeonholes the guardian even more.
that’s good and bad to hear brutaly
giving up damage to gain damage. wait, what?
the life of trying new things on a Guardian.

not the point of the thread, but. Been taking a break the last month, came back for this patch to see how things are.
Been going through various builds in some hot joins. Symbol builds, power builds, condition builds, meditation builds….. of course the one I had the most success with was the bunker build.
Oddly enough I had some decent returns with spirit weapons+bane signet. Single target CCs and lots of burst /shrug go figure!
I hate on spirit weapons so much and they work best for me besides bunker :p
We already had Fury, don’t know why they couldn’t see that.
Its pretty small buff if any. Anet disappoints like usual.
Anet lied (where’s the Manifesto now?)

this is so true…

I’m not using it currently on a Med skirmish burst dps build (using Glacial heart, actually).
I find the better of the two changes to be that Smite and MI are now instantaneous by default.

Is it really worth the 10 points in any context over something else?
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I did a PvE build to test: 10/30/20/5/5 with boon duration (50%) 2 meditations (JI and Smite Cond), SY, with Sword/Focus & Staff. (You get 6 sec of fury on meditation)
I feel that I get DPS (+20% crit dmg + fury uptime) compared to 10/30/0/20/10, 10/30/0/10/20 or similars. But I feel that I lose too much support.
Maybe good on heavy Meditation builds, but I don’t know. Its duration should be 5 seconds and not 4 seconds, that 1 second does too much diference, so wouldn’t be required go boon duration to work.
Bunch of whiners, you lot. I love the changes. Mace/Focus Scepter/Shield full meditation healing build. I have about 28% crit chance normally, so the on demand fury gives me lots of crits. I can support incredibly well, keep myself alive, and give occasional bursts of heavy damage if I time the fury right. The only thing I’m lacking is condition removal, but if I had that then I would be OP.
Did a solo roaming hammer/staff triple meditation build 0/0/30/20/20 was pretty fun and effective, open with VoC traited stability and empower with staff then start meditating with hammer stuff, cleric/berserkers, all meditation traits, fury def helped me overpower people.

bursts of heavy damage, high crit %, with high uptime fury and with option for condition removal is OP? but that sounds exactly like Warrior.

After playing around with it, 4 seconds just isn’t enough to make a difference compared to the other options in the tree. I’d personally recommend it to be increased to 6 or 7 seconds.
It works ok for a triple meditation build, provided you are fully traited to take advantage of it.
With Meditation Mastery it’s 26 seconds of Fury a minute – and with a full DPS build 4 seconds is enough to unload your initial burst.
My biggest gripe is in that scenario you have to drop Purity which means even less condition removal for our already hugely reduced/nerfed condition removal “arsenal”.
Another thing that annoys me with the patch is that Signet Mastery with Signet of Resolve was always meant to grant you 2 condition cleanses every 10 seconds, but I’ve tested this in the mists and it’s just 1 condition cleanse every 8 seconds now.

We aren’t pigeonhold go to spvp forums dps guardians are awesome apparently. I feel like Im living bizarre world reading the stuff there. Guardians = one of the most pigeonholed classes. If you want to be a dps and excel roll a warrior sadly. As a guardian you will only outperform lesser skilled players in that role.
Works best when you pop WW or Zealots Defense then immediately JI to your target. I see no other use for it.

This is a big nerf. I was wondering what the change log meant because it always removed 2 conditions with perfect inscriptions. The change makes sense because its in context with the 20% boost to signet passives. But still, it was one of the only things good about using perfect inscriptions.
Windows 10
perfect inscription + purity + signet of resolve was potential 3 clear every 10 seconds…that was pretty strong even though no one really ran that. Sad to see that go Huge nerf I feel.

Definitely, its one of those unnecessary changes Anet makes. There has never been a single complaint about perfect inscriptions before. I can understand the change, I just feel it wasn’t needed.
Who runs perfect inscriptions? Probably very few.

I’m having a lot more success in (Hot join) PvP with this build:
Zeal Minor 5 (Symbol of Wrath below 50% HPs)
Valour I, X, XII (Reduce recharge on Meds, Fury on Med activation, using Med heals you)
Honour Minor 5 (Vigor on crit)
Virtues IV, X, XI (Retaliation when dazed etc, Virtue of Courage Grants Stability, Virtue of Justice passive does PBAoE burn)
So: 5, 0, 30, 5, 30
Utilities: All meds
Weapons: GtSwd with (Fire), Mace (Air)/Focus (Energy)
Runes: 6xWarrior (Vit/Power)
It’s probably a really old spec from ages ago, and it’s possibly sub-optimal, but the Fury is huge and it’s working for me.

Its cool for my WvW roaming build, since I get all the mobs in one spot and have 8 seconds of fury while nuking them.
I wouldn’t use it for dungeons or spvp though.
they added fury for guardians? huh? I’ve always had fury on my guardian..
but I did make the right choice and made it a charr.
=P
