It’s awefully annoying standing and casting ring of warding, being fortunate enough to capture someone to have them dodge roll out imediatly. Anet was this intentional or just a bug?

It’s annoying. I had that happen to me last night with a particularly squirmy engineer. I had a “Ahah, got you, you little bugger” moment closely followed by a “Wait, you can dodge roll out of this?” Haven’t played hammer much to be honest. I usually see baddies smack into it when I get them.

The best way I found to use it is with #4 right after the trap. Then you knock them down and they don’t fly off too far.

The dodge mechanic gives you an (invisible) invulnerability buff that lasts as long as the dodging animation. The dodge itself does not interact with the world like you would expect in, say, a typical action game.
I imagine they would have to change the parameters of dodging so it can’t evade those abilities specifically.

These abilities may as well be removed from the game if it is intended that you be able to dodge through them.
