Hello guys, im big fan of the guardian playing since day 1
This is my feedback for the DragonHunter elite Specialization
Sorry for my mediocre English-


WARNING WALL OF TEXT —-

(Virtues) : I like the new virtues bringing new ways to play my profession but the Cast time makes almost impossible to play it correctly, They need to be instant cast.

-Spear Of Justice : Needs to be Insta Cast – Reduce the CD to 20s (—21 3/4 Live—)
-Wings Of Resolve : Needs to be Insta Cast – Reduce the CD to 40s ( — 43 1/2 Live — )
-Shield Of Courage: Needs to be Insta Cast – Reduce the CD to 65s ( — 65 ¼ Live — )

(Traits) : Overall Good choices
Some Changes I would like to make

Piercing Light — Replace this trait for Dragon`s Leg : While wielding a 2H weapon you gain passive 25% Movement Speed. ( This fix the issue with the low movement of guardians an also brings more play for the utility bar No more Perma Retreat on bar), Bleed is not a common thing for Guardians/DragonHunter just doesnt make sense

Big Game Hunter : Remove the vulnerability and put “ Increase The Spear of Justice active effect to 10 seconds ” Way better.

(Long Bow) : Feels very strong and fits with the DH theme.

AA: Reduce the CD to 2/3 or ½ Please
True Shot: Good DMG long rage attack feels strong and solid. No changes
Deflecting Shot: Feels good No changes
Symbol of Energy : QoL Make this ability a Symbol ( Needs to be explicit like a GS #4 or Mace #2 “ Needs to say Symbol in the description ”) , Also make so we can activate the skill behind us.
Hunter`s Ward : IDK how to fix this ability yet but the CD is too long

(Heal)

Purification: Sadly this will never be use, because an enemy need to trigger it, make it so allies can also trigger this ability

(Utilities)

Test of faith : ok
Fragments of Faith: kitten CD is too long, reduce to 35s.
Procession of Blades : Reduce the CD to 20s Overall feels strong.
Ligth`s Judgement: Why you nerf this ability Needs to be at least 20Stack of Vulnerability

(Elite)
Dragon`s Maw : Its OK, Nothing to say, RF or FMW are still better.

My main problem, I think the main probably of most guardians here actually, is that virtues aren’t insta cast. If anet made that one change, regardless of the other issues with LB, I think DH would be pretty viable in PvP, otherwise it’s simply not as good.

So I have 2 major gripes with the dragon hunter.

First, making the virtues have a cast time just feels awful. Please make instant cast again.

Second, the projectile speed of the longbow auto attack is too slow, in PvP it is easy to avoid. Please increase the projectile speed of the LB auto attack.

I’m not sure, can you, umm…. do that again? ROM – 2015

Cast times on the virtues haven’t been an issue for me except for courage. The others make sense to have casts because justice requires the target, and resolve is a ground target effect. Both of those really are ok with a cast, but courage becomes pointless when you’re stuck behind cast times for a defensive skill like that. I love how well traps work, but I agree the heal one needs to be allied triggered too or ground target by default. The effects on it are pretty nice, cd on it is nice, even arming time isn’t bad but that trigger…. The other traps are pretty good and I would argue that the bleed trait for them is actually good too but it seems lackluster. Bleed on traps either need to be baseline or the trait needs some polishing up to offer more. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how solid and fun dragonhunter was to play. I will admit I went into it not expecting much based on what we had seen so far but I quickly found a playstyle for it I enjoyed and haven’t slowed down since. As for projectile speed on the bow, eh, that’s debatable. A speed increase on AA wouldn’t break or overpower it at all but I didn’t have too much issue landing hits but then again I play ranger too so I know how frustrating landing bow shots can be on an auto.

My feedback for Dragonhunter is pretty simple. I’d like at least one the traps to be able to remove conditions. Condition removal is pretty important in HoT and going full trap Dragonhunter leaves you crippled or some other condition after every fight with nothing to cleanse that from the new skills.

The Beta is prof of how the plan to ruin Guardian/(fail)DH works
Feedback what feedback they purely ignore the guardian, HELL even they nerfed the only promising trap ,,Light’s Judgement’’ from 25 to 10 stacks of vulnerability
I will be surprised if they act to it or against it (feedback)

Condition removal is pretty important in HoT and going full trap Dragonhunter leaves you crippled or some other condition after every fight with nothing to cleanse that from the new skills.

You can still accomplish condi clear with traits and focus, but you will lose party clears, as you should because this is a dps spec, not a support one( except for resolve trait)

Traps seem fine for the most part, I think they could use a slightly lower cast time, and I feel I should be able to self-trigger the healing trap.

Longbow is alright. Skill 4 should count as a symbol for synergy, but otherwise I have no gripes with the longbow.

Traits are complete kitten. Little to no synergy with base guardian. Only traits that I thought looked good was the adept traits, but I can’t pick all 3 at once.

You can still accomplish condi clear with traits and focus, but you will lose party clears, as you should because this is a dps spec, not a support one( except for resolve trait)

If anet wants us to survive in HoT’s condi rich environment using full dh traps, I’d like it to have condi removals somewhere in the skills and that’s just my opinion.
