Do traits like indomitable courage and absolute resolution work with the dragonhunter virtues (wings of resolve/shield of courage) even though they specifically reference the vanilla guardian virtues in the tool tip?

They’re all suppose to. Some don’t but that’s a bug that should eventually get fixed.

They do work with the Dragonhunter virtues, I used virtues trait-line during BWE2 and 3 and they worked flawlessly

Shield of Courage don’t activate the Breakstun from Indomitable Courage since it’s has a cast time.

That’s really clunky IMO. These traits are supposed to work and have synergy with each other. Do you still get the stability?

Also for Absolute Resolution, do you get the regen and condition cleanses along with the big swooping heal?

I’m pretty sure absolute resolution gives you the cleanse at the end of wings of resolution skill. I can’t comment on indomitable courage, but if tempest overloads can break stun than it should be able to, or else it’s a bug.

I’m also finding that virtues and dragonhunter don’t necessarily need to be played together unless you go for burn or support builds.

Then the traits that apply specifically to the skill guardian work for the skill of the dragon hunter? I refer specifically to :

Virtue:
- Supreme justice
- Absolute resolution
- Permaeting wrath
- Battle presence
- Indomitable courage

Radiance:
- Justice is blind
- Renewed justice
- Wrath of justice

Valor:
- Courageous return

Honor:
- Purity of body

but make no mistake… this is not synergy!

The ability to be interrupted is annoying. Usually I have my VoR as a safety net versus conditions. But when I get knockdown mid flight, I just have to watch myself burn to death. Rangers interrupt my flight alllll the time.

I would love some evade frames while flying.

They are supposed to work but some were bugged.

They also have very visible cast times & are not instant leading you to be extremely easy to counter them sending them on a full Cd without doing anything.

A perfect example of this is courage. Since it only blocks anything that pierces blocks will go right through it. Rev, warrior & necro all have abilities that do so.

Another example is resolve. Its extremely visible but only heals & does the other stuff after you land so it makes you a prime target for CC while your leaping.

Frankly resolve could use a 1 second evade at base as a DH and courage could use at least 1 stability stack at base as a DH.

There is also the problem that all virtues have as a guardian, namely traits.
Some traits make you never want to activate them, other traits make you want to activate them every CD.
Frankly they just need to consolidate traits that are in the same line & effect the same virtue so that they are good no matter what your doing.

I think it’d be different if they had made three new virtues for DH (making six total instead of replacing the original three). Then nothing steps on each other and you can trait with maximum diversity.

If you look at most of the other specializations, there was an added F skill or the additional functionality was integrated with existing F skills but was brand new and didn’t affect existing traits (like overload for eles).

Obviously six virtues would greatly raise complexity of playing for newcomers but for seasoned players it would be amazing. Understanding that will never happen, what ragnar suggested seems to be the best solution. Problem there is that would leave some pretty huge empty trait slots that would somehow need filled.

I’ll be experimenting over the next couple days with it; all I can do is hope they’ve buttoned up the virtue trait synergy with DH. We’ll soon find out.

They were a little bugged during the BWEs however, yes they all have synergy with all the virtue traits.

I didn’t get to play the 3rd BWE but before hand there were certain traits that weren’t working with the virtues. Majority of them weren’t intended and the DH virtues are intended to work with all of the current guardian versions albeit differently due to the nature of the DH virtues.

Absolute resolution applies upon landing with WoR removing 3 conditions where you land except it removes immob upon cast now. Makes sense seeing as the trait removes conditions off allies so having it remove them when you cast the spell and not where you land makes very little sense.

Indomitable courage will break you out of stun instantly the second you cast SoC. The active effect of SoC isnt instant though.

Hope that answers your question!

I also like the lower couldown of wings of resolve and the better healing values, meaning I’ll probably use it a lot more than the base virtue.
