Dragonhunter WvW Roaming Videos
I’ll watch all of them before posting…
BRB
Well nothing special, Zodin goes WvW again!
I’m glad you are back
Only one question…
Obviously in a heat of the fight you do not care too much about the fragments of Aegis on the ground but I saw you dodge actually away from your buffs… Is this on purpose (for saving them for later use)?
Anyway did you traited Unscathed Contender?
Well does not matter… Nice videos and very good fights!
High five! and +1
Really enjoyed these. Theyve helped me work on my DH play. Thanks.

I don’t actively run into the fragment of aegis because I’ve found them extremely unreliable, sometimes I run over them and don’t get aeigs. o.O [maybe they are better now?]
I do use unscathed contender it’s by far the best trait choice.¨
I’m glad you like the video(s)
Excellent gameplay, and great edits/music! Very much enjoyed the videos.
I have a question about the build used in the third video: how does it do against condition-based builds? I ask because about 50-60% of mesmer roamers I encounter are condi-based. Med guard seems to match up so poorly against them to the point where I’ve changed my build when I know I’m about to fight one.
Well I try to play pac-man with them…
For example I always try to dodge towards a bigger cluster of them (if this makes sense obviously…). The TrueShot is a CC-interrupt magnet and with a quick aegis I have more chance to land it. Also if I time it right I can land 2-3 shots buffed by Unscathed Contender even if I’m constantly taking damage.
Final note: It can be my ping/lag but I think the UC trait only counts at the time the hit lands. So you can fire DistractingShot than step onto a fragment just before it lands (even in LoS) and the DS will receive the buff. This needs further testing through.
Can anybody confirm this for us please?
(but this is the reason I believe the non-rooted TS would be OP in pvp-wvw)
But hey I’m not here to criticise your gameplay! (I’m 100% sure you are a much better player than me )
Keep up the good work!
Happy Guardin’!

It isn’t that it isn’t reliable. You only pick up fragments when you don’t have Aegis, and in some cases when you’re on top of one and you lose Aegis, you have to move off of it and back onto it to pick it up again. Though anyways excellent clips.

Since I use Test of Faith instead of Conteplation of Purity it’s a bit harder to handle the condi pressure in a straight up fight, but during roaming I won’t play fair especially versus a condi-mesmer(0 skill noob build) I will play to win, e.i. kite them if needed – We have better mobility then condi-mesmers so I tend to kite them a lot. Fight them on range. You’re right as guardians we’ve had it rough vs condi mesmers for awhile but I think dragonhunters handle them better then normal medi due to the longbow and extra mobility.
Tbh I expected a bigger impact on my game vs condi builds when I switched away from conteplation of purity, but with test of faiths extra damage and daze it’s almost easier: one good pull into trap + knockout + True Shot combo is so much damage if they dont have any defensives left, condi or not they die. ^^
