Hello,

I am looking to try and understand the current meta dungeon Guardian. I am looking for links to the build and the gear set. I under full zerkers. Runes? Sigils? Traits/utilities/weapons ect. Looking to understand what I should be doing. I run the dungeons on other toons, I just Pug a lot and find the lack of a guardian really hampers some of the runs I do. They are doable, but would be easier with a meta dungeon Guardian.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Armor: Zerk (train yourself there with Valk or something if you need to work up to it)

Runes: Ranger (if you dodge immaculately, the only better rune is Scholar)

Weapons: Sword+Focus/Hammer or GS or Staff, switch your 2H depending on the encounter (but rarely take the staff into battle, just pre-might stack then jump in with Hammer or GS, and of course, Sw+Fo)

Sigils: Force/Slaying in Arah/HotW/TA/CM; Night/Slaying in CoF/CoE/SE/AC

Traits: I dunno lol. There’s a few, and for pugging you may be more reliant on traits for your party support. A good place to start is 10/30/0/5/10. Then use your remaining 15 in however you see fit. 10/30/0/10/20 has ridiculous cleansing with F2 and Purging Flames. But more on skills…

Skills: I usually run Purging Flames and Hallowed Ground all the time, with either Retreat or Wall of Reflection as my third. Hallowed Ground got a nice boon duration mechanic in the balance, so with 20 virtues that’s +40% base boon duration for 28s Might (x3) stacks per blast finisher (cycle it with Focus 5, Hammer 2, Hammer 2). Somewhat because of that, try and withhold HG for your blast finishing and Purging Flames for cleansing, despite them both being Fire fields, as the HG might stacks will last 8 seconds longer.

Hope that was enough info.

Here’s a link to a discussion on guard builds I did in another thread earlier today. Like Young said, there’s quite a few builds that are used right now, most of them will balance utility vs dps based on the situation.

For instance if your taking a hammer build into level 38 fractals and your party already has condi clensing covered, you’ll be able to put points in radiance over virtues, but at 48 with that same group you may opt for those 10 points in valor to increase the teams defense against harder hitting enemies.

Anyway, here’s the link to it, it’s continued on the post below it

I run dungeons almost nightly with my guild on my guardian. here’s my experience:

traits are 20/15/0/30/5. Notable traits are vuln on blind, extra damage vs burning targets, symbols are larger and heal allies, and your F2 virtue spreads to your allies.

If its an “easy” dungeon path, I run zerker gear with GS / Staff or Hammer. If it’s something more challenging (like 30+ fractal runs) I use Scepter / Shield and Mace / Focus.

Your utilities will always depend on what you are up against and who is with you. if you have a necromancer who is drawing conditions, do not cleanse them yourself: they are using them to heal and you will mess them up. If the boss is ranged bring reflection. If there’s a ton of knockdown or control effects, bring extra stability. Since the traits are focused on your weapon skills you have a lot of freedom to adapt to any dungeon path with ease.
