Dungeon tanky build advice
This is the build i have been using for farming TA/CoF/SE explorable – http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fUAQNAR5elYgyCHFyvDfYFRuAbBVFiHmCMmxrHOkiME
Has A LOT of sustain and utility and with Resolve/Hold The Line/Symbol of Faith im able to keep constant regen on my team.
Please help. It appears to me that tanking is lost in GW2 because healing is lost. It feels like I’m playing World of Kitecraft, and that I get two-shotted if I don’t run around like a headless chicken and patch up if and when I can.

You’re not supposed to be taking many unmitigated hits. Block, blind and weaken are there for a reason. Your health won’t last nearly as long if you don’t keep a steady stream of defensive abilities flowing. Healing through damage is impossible and tanking isn’t lasting.

I have no problems to “tank” in dungeon and the regeneration it provides in combination with the protection from the Hammer chain is just awesome. Usually i just take about every hit and dont bother dodging for the most part. In Dungoens avoid red circles and you should be fine.
I stick to the Hammer for the most part for the AOE and to at least deal a little bit of damage, though the damage is really poorly, but that what the rest of my group focuses on. i only switch to Mace/focus when i get low (which doesnt happen often).
The first utility skill i switch a lot depending on the situation.
For the most part i am using Cleric’s equipment but mixed in a little Shaman’s stuff to better sustain conditions. (Armor and Weapons yellow, Tinkets green)
Id prefer runes of the Monk instead of Dwayna but can’t affort them right now.

Kerigolas, I’m running the same weapon setup, though I’m currently at 10/0/10/30/20. I just can’t get past that horrible second tier for Valor, so I don’t see that line as a good payoff. I am toying around with going 15/0/5/30/20 and see how good the vulnerability is from extended/enlarged symbols. Then again, with so many people saying how good 30/30 is for Valor/Honor, I might give it a go one of these days.
The tier 2 in Valor is indeed a bit….well not so good, but the tier 3 trait that gives you healing when you apply a boon to an ally (afaik your are allied with yourself^^) is just awesome. I.e. “Hold the line” gives 2 boons to up to 5 ppl, results in 10x healing + protection + reg for yourself.
P.s. you can keep protection up about 80% of the time with just the hammer. together with the signet that gives you 10% damage reduction you are at 43% damage reduction most of the time.

I go almost 100% melee in explorable dungeons (I’m lv 80) and I use completely damage oriented gear with a rather damage oriented build.
If you keep moving, conserve your dodges, and mix in weakness/protection and blind/aegis, you should be able to survive pretty well. But you shouldn’t expect to “tank”.

I’m the same. As long as I don’t get hit back to back to back or being hit by the one shot of doom (if I do, I deserve to die), I can survive pretty well in melee between dodge, my heal, and monk’s focus.
Your not intended to tank in this game. Builds that are heavily focused make the fights last longer is all.
You have to half-tank by spliting the differance between it and survivability. This is why the crit builds are more popular due to being able to stack crit really high while taking the toughness traits as well. 5 Points and the vitality trait gives you vigor every crit for almost constant dodge rolling.
For some reason i cant get through to the gw2skill site.
Can any one update the links
Thanks in advance
