Dungeons: Role you use?
I run mace/shield for protection/healing and better tanking ability. I leave the DPS to the DPS’ers, i.e. Rangers.

Except I swapped the elite skill for Tome of Courage. I can go with pretty much any group and have an easy time of things. There’s just a ton of healing and support buffing in there.
Greatsword/Scepeter+Torch, with boon giving and condition repelling utilities. I swap out the utilities for DPS in regular PvE though.

I´m always trying to support my teammates in some way and doing some dmg and… kinda being the lady for everything Thus I´m playing hammer + Staff.
The Hammer symbol does great with the symbol trees. It heals and does decent damage and gives the -33% dmg-buff. Quite useful for ppl like me, who love to play melee ^.^
The knockback, circle thingy and the staff´s wall are also very nice x)
Only annoying thing is that there´s always a space of time at the beginning of each fight where that build is useless… until u make the third hit with the hammer x)
greatsword/Mace, shield. with emphasis on toughness, vitality, and healing. mace and shield lets you psuedo tank, while keeping peoples damage reduction up and a heal every third swing. GS gives you the pull to get things off of squishies, and a blind, plus pretty decent damage, even specced away from damage. I dunno, it seems to work for me. I found my groups started having a lot less deaths when i switched to this from staff/scepter, shield.
Mace + Shield for groups .. other wise just run a 2hander sword or 1h sword + torch
I run with two spirit weapons in pve because they look cool.. other wise in a group i use the group buffs. ( Shouts : http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shout )

thats what i run and im currently stacking Lots of healing and its saved alot of lives. The guardian’s abillity to protect the party from ranged attacks is very very very strong. I use spirit weapons because they have a much longer duration than Consencrations. With this set up my party and i are usualy imune to ranged attacks fro upwards of a 45-60 seconds. with about a 20-30 sec downtime. my healing allows me to help save teammates and be in the thick of things when needed. Overall i feel im a good portion to our success in dungeons.

I roll with mace/shield most of the time along with Cleric’s gear upgraded with Earth runes.
The protection duration is nice, and when traited for it, symbols and condition removal really add to your group utility as well.
All of you using Mace/Shield have you tried Mace/Focus? I’ve been doing some reading that suggests that the Focus is actually better than the shield right now. I picked up a focus yesterday to try it out and I can see how it COULD be better, but haven’t been able to actually test it yet.

Well, I’ve only done one dungeon so far, AC. I charged in with my Greatsword, did some damage, switched over to Staff for buffs/heals, leapt back in for more damage. It’s got a pretty fun feel to it. I like damage more than anything, but I enjoy the Guardian. So I have to learn to support too
My experience: I’ve done multiple explorables and every story mode but Arah.
I actually go for maximum damage with an above average amount of control/support. If you use CC and boons/defensive abilities situationally, you can focus entirely on damage, especially if you buff your Virtues.

I ran AC last night for the first time. We downed it in about an hour-ish, and it was pug too! I really feel like there isn’t a “best” spec to use in GW2 dungeons. I also kept a 1h sword in my bag for the Lover’s fight. I feel like everyone really should learn to use all the different weapon types and styles that guardians have to offer.
I mainly just wrecked mobs throwing in support where needed and applying boons. Sometimes i switched to scepter and pull for the group, etc.
