I would like to see axe as an offhand dps weapon plus facets like herald.

Axe offhand:

4# Throw axe and deal dmg in a cone and heal 3 allies for 500 in that cone (25% of heal is returned to you) – 600 range

5# Counter attack (evade channel 2 sec + unblockable): do dmg equal of biggest enemies dmg – if enemy does not attack gives 1 aegis. 25 sec cd

Virtues becoming Auras:

F1 Chilling aura : (passive) chill 1 1/4s every 5th attack – (active) blowout for 350 range and weakness for 4 sec – 20 sec cd

F2 Healing aura : (passive) taking dmg heals you for 100 and while not in combat movement speed increased by 25% – (active) water field

F3 Protective aura: (passive) Aegis every 20 sec and protection for 3 sec if aegis is broken – (active) break from stuns and form down protective dome that projectiles and foes cannot enter and pull 3 allies healing them for 2000 and curing 1 condition and giving them 1 stability 180 radius. (pull range is 600)

Facet radius is 450.

Heal facet:
Facet of courage: passive regen 300/sec + trait to pulse 50hp/s to 5 party members (when used heal for 2500 – cd 25sec)

utility:

-aoes in front, cures up to 3 conditions from allies, burns enemies, burns +1s for each condition removed. Gain might for each target you burn

Utility skills- “bonds”
1) heal
heal for a small amount instantly + 3 more packets of healing over the next 3 seconds. Bond with nearby allies for 3 seconds, healing them for 75% of health that you heal your self (only healing that comes from you, to you counts)

-gain 5 stacks of might for 10 seconds, and 3 more stacks every second for the next 3s.
Bond with allies around you for 3 seconds, granting them all might you gain on your self.

2) Bond

elite: Angelic bond
-Gain aegis and resistance for 8 seconds, and gain 3s resistance each second for hte next 3 seconds.
Bond with allies and grant them 3s resistance each time you gain resistance.
If your bonded allies would take fatal damage,the damage is negated and they will be healed for 4000 health +1500 health if they had resistance on them.

Traits:
Traits mostly focused to “agument” your bonds in various ways such as what happends when the bond begins, while allies are bonded, and when the bond ends such as:

-While bonded you receive -10% damage from both raw and conditions
-Allies you bond with have increased dmg by 10%
-Allies you bond with are healed by 400-600 health each second they are bonded with, -Grand aegis when the bond ends.
-remove 1 condition when bond ends.

-Enemies you bond with get vulnerabilty each second they are bonded with, apply 5 seconds of burning when bond ends
-You aoe heal for a small amount when you remove a condition from your self

Virtues

1) Virtue of justice
Burning refrain- The next 3 ally attacks causes burning and (similar like the original virtue of justice).
If ally is bonded all attacks cause burning during the duration of the bond.
When the bond ends enemies around you are burned for 1 second of burning for each ally that was bonded.

2) Virtue of resolve
Aria of restoration- Allies around you are healed for a small amount, and heal for 600 health each time they hit a target (up to 3 times). If allies are bonded the heal is
doubled.

3) Virtue of courage
Defensive Anthem- Grant aegis and resistance to everyone around you for 8 seconds. If ally is bonded reduce dmg taken from both condition and dmg by 30% for the next 5 seconds. Remove 2 conditions when Defensive anthem ends.

nothing has been data mined since i dont think anything is inside the code yet.

But there are rumors about guardians being called purifiers or something and getting an axe main hand (along with a bunch of other “leaks”)…but well see, atm its just a rumor , tho we are definitely going to the crystal desert (as seen in some leaked screenshots)

Personally I want the purifier to be ranged support, but I’m almost certain it’s going to be offensive condition cancer. I actually asked the leaker about it, and he said something along the lines of “It’s pure offense so far”.

That may be speculation or even a rough diagram, but nothing is ever pure “offensive” for guardian. That’s seen from every weapon set we have.

If Greatsword doesn’t work… why the heck are we going to use AXE over Sword/Scepter? We better gain 1 heck of a mobility range-reducer for #2 and #5… like, two mini virtue F2 skills without the healing factor…. just saying…

This. I’m so tired of seeing point-blank close-ish range support for almost everything supportive. Plus I would like to see guardians get something that actually lets them support or guard their allies like the class is supposed to be able to do. Both of those reasons are why I would’ve been happy to see tomes return, in addition to their great aesthetic, but I would’ve been happy with any ranged support.

I for one don’t really care about how overpowered the next elite spec will be, so what it offers in that regard doesn’t really concern me, personally speaking. I just don’t find condition cancer to be fun and it’s not at all the reason I chose to play the class in the first place. I’m assuming others feel a similar way.

I’d be unenthusiastic about a condi elite spec. The class literally only has burning baseline, and only a couple of traits that even support that. It would take more than one specialization to make a condi Guardian actually viable, they would need to rework a lot of the class.

I’d be more interested in the support aspect too. They already have some interesting and overlooked traits that focus on the Aegis boon, like Pure of Heart (Aegis you apply heals when it blocks, on yourself or allies) and Shattered Aegis which does the same but damages foes. And the give Aegis to allies when you block an attack trait. Maybe adding a trait like “Aegis you apply heals for X every second” on an elite spec would work well with Pure of Heart. Not a huge amount of healing, but turning Aegis into the Guaridan’s support boon that has extra benefits only for the elite spec could be interesting. The same way that Chill is the theme of the Reaper. And they already have the shield and focus that mesh pretty well with the support side with Regen, Aegis, blocks and area control and healing, if we are getting an axe for our next weapon.

it doesn’t take more than a few minor traitlines in the elite spec to make it a viable condi spec

things like

apply 3 stacks of bleed for 10 secs when you apply blind
aegis removed applies AoE (600 radius) torment
symbols also pulse poison
critical hits to targets with more than 3 stacks of burn also applies confusion

boom condi cancer class made with 2 minor traitlines and 2 major traitline.

I really hope the Purifier will be good at removing Boons (Searing Flames) and Conditions to add more utility to Guardians. If Axe happens to have Bleeds or Torment, fine. But I’d rather not get a pure condition spec and especially not one using Poision.

Just had a strange thought, what if the purifier is purifying torment into a healing boon? We do have the Murssat to deal with at some point. We also have been going down an ancient magics mastery line.
I just really want guardians to be true to their namesake again. I’m really getting annoyed at filling a dps slot and being pushed out at healing support by basically half the classes.

What i’d like purifier to be :

- dual axes ! (both main and off hand, mid range weapon, 600 units)
OR
- Spear melee (2H and / or 1H) (still mid range weapon, 600 units)

- Virtues changed to auras (activating one virtue cancel previous one, longer duration and increased effect)

- fire changed to frost damage (cold light ?) (not blood!)

- Reviewed signets

- more base HP, considering how DPS went through rooftop since HoT … A heavy melee class with so few base HP is ridiculous.

- something not to be forced into traveller rune in WvW.

What would we like for Mantras then?

Same 2.75s preparation. Gain 600 toughness while channeling? Protection? Resistance?

2 Casts.

Heal – 3000 with a 0.5 scale.

Utility 1 – Break Stuns, grant Stability (5s) and Resistance (3s) to allies (360 radius) (25s recharge)
Utility 2 – Daze and Blind target foe, enemy is Chilled if suffering from Burning, 1200 range (15s recharge)
Utility 3 – Damage and Burn target area. 200 damage, Burning x5 2s, 240 radius, 1200 range. (20s recharge)
Utility 4 – Convert 2 conditions on self and allies to boons, 360 radius (10s recharge)

Kind of messy. Those don’t seem like very guardian-like mantras, in fact they’re almost literally copies of mesmer mantras but with additional effects. Additionally, the last thing I would want to happen to tomes is for them to become close-ranged and merged into a generalized mess.

If this elite spec really is getting a condition axe, tomes, and mantras, I’m going to assume that half of the mantras are going to be ranged support, and half of them are going to be condition-focused since tomes are supportive and the axe is condition cancer. This is also assuming that at least both tomes return, because I can see it being complete condition cancer with no support if the only tome to return is some form of Tome of Wrath.

We need a proper condi spec since condition builds dominate pretty much every game mode currently. We could also use rework of some vanilla trait lines (looking at you, Honor).

Basically i expect Purifier to be a burning focused spec as we already have more than enough condition cleanse with the latest change to light fields. Maybe we will even get access to some new boons/conditions with the xpac.

For mantras i would like to see something original. Mantras could become auras that give a buff to you and everyone nearby until cancelled/switched. These buffs would again have to be somehow? different since we already have ranger spirits/warrior banners etc. I can already imagine a 25% movement speed aura.

Having a mechanic that clears conditions on foes in exchange for damage/effects would be an extremely thematic element and provide a lot of team support.

Consider with me for a moment.
A mechanic that causes ~100 damage per stack of conditions removed from an enemy. Load someone up on conditions, burn them away for huge spike damage. Provides skillful interaction with epidemic bouncing to epi, purify, then re-epi back to that foe. Fits a bit of GW1 flavor of skills that provide benefits to an enemy at a detriment. However: Revenant. So I don’t think it would happen. I’m not really sure what direction they’d go with the “leaked” concepts, so until I hear something official its going to be as likely as my own hot brew.

Still this is what Meditations builds should be -_-# instead of the crappy DH… the only thing DH has good are the virtues… since they can be countered but are very good if u manage to cast them.

I don’t think Purifier will be pure condi. My guess is that it’s a condi support, or condi healer, with the latter being more likely.

First of all, from the leak, we know the name is Purifier, which sounds like a healer/support, rather than an offensive geared spec, plus we already got DH, which is pure dps. The mechanic is supposed to be Tomes, and the weapon is a condi mh Axe.

Here’s the thing, Guardian already have Mace as a healing weapon. Yes, it sucks, but they can’t just release a second one to do the same thing. And they can always rework mace anyway. So, they give us Axe as a condi weapon, since base Guardian doesn’t have anything like it.

Second, the mechanic is Tomes. Our old tomes came in 2 flavours, one offensive, and one healing. So, the healing tome could be our version of Celestial Avatar, while the offensive tome is condi based dps.

I don’t know why people always mention the mace as a healing weapon when the staff offers the same (or higher) healing per second in bursts, at longer range, and its healing is actually practically applied to allies. Either way it’d make sense to have a ranged healing weapon for a ranged support spec, although I’m assuming that’ll be the purpose of the tomes.

Which will be amazing. The skill sets of the tomes really begged to be kits to start with, especially courage. The game has got to a point where being able to swap between healing mode, burn mode, and buff? mode will not be crazy overpowered. Compared to when the game came out and if courage was a kit it would have been insane. Nowadays it’s just a CA.
