Explains the nerf on retaliation… but does NOT explain why it was nerfed so severely, i mean a trait was reduced to 30% of what it used to be and ITS NOT EVEN OP.
The skill bar change, although it doesn’t bother me all that much, is s2pid because it bothers the muscle reflex and timing memory of devote PvPers (which i am not). If PvP is such a big deal then why did they screw a these players? huh? HUUUH?!
P.S. saying “don’t be stupid about things” just screams egoist and deserving of trolls, but too bad i have too much pride for that.

They have a “new” focus for Guardians, and when they’ve finalized what they need, they’ll let us know. That explains their changes to retaliation, Greatsword, and silence on the forums.
I now feel I should note, “Don’t be stupid about things” was more for reference about trying to grasp at straws in the article, or replying with nothing more than “But this isn’t about Guardians, its about pvp, so blergh…” etc., not so much at my regarding the reactions to be stupid.

Your point would be valid IF they had went ahead and kept the GS nerf held off until they were ready to release everything about it at once. To nerf GS now, and leave it the way it is for who knows how long, and THEN come out with the rest of the changes down the road is NOT practicing the belief of “when it’s ready”. Why you think the attitude in the article even remotely reflects what they’ve done to us in the present is beyond me. L2 reading comprehension.
Evidently they saw something that needed changing now (or they changed as much as was ready to change), and so went ahead and made the changes. They may only have a few small number tweaks to finalize, thereby delaying the rest of their changes, or they may want to foreshadow (in a way) the coming changes, and get people unstuck from the idea of playing GS in “x” way so that they (the players) can make an easier transition to the “new format” instead of throwing everything down at once.
There is some pacing to take into account for balancing, and its nice to at least have some warning in a sense of how things could change. Anet might’ve already decided this is actually all the change they wanted to do, and now that the skills are how they are, people will need to adapt. We may or may not need to adapt more, but I’ll tell you that I have faith in Anet, and in my personal opinion, the Oct 7 changes were for the best in a few ways.

They want to do whatever they can to nerf guardians until they can actually quash their sPvP, at which point they’ll apply long awaited buffs so they end up on the same playing field as everyone else.
