Please Arena.net I beg of you, give hammer the Elementalist Lightning Hammer #1 animations. This will pretty much make all of the hammer problems go away. All of the animations are exactly the same, except the third hit is sped up to what it should be for the guardian hammer. That is all, thank you.

Hammer is fine, just because some of the players havent figured out what its good for doesnt mean that its broken in any way or form.

Especially since there are players doing wonders with it and get OP tells ingame from opponents.

Anyone but me that makes 10k burst with MB+chain+MB? And over 60% that damage being true aoe while adding protection and retal to my team!

No secrets:
Altruistic healing, 5 points in virtues, vigorous precision and full berserker gear.
Either empowering might and/or sigil of battle in 1h sword/hammer or sigil of intelligence in the hammer. Depending on sigil you use different weapons as opener to benefit from both crit from mighty blow or 6 stacks of might when its hammer time..

Ofc 2h mastery so you can permachain mb with the chainskill.

I use pov/pre/critdamage gems instead of runes.

Approach the opponent by using retreat.
Flash in with 1h sword, pull all cd on 1h and build might and force them to use cooldowns and dodge. Use skill 5 on focus just before swap.
Switch to hammer with 100% crit.
Mb
Save your selves give you 70% crit and stand your ground cc immunity when you land mb.
Chain
Mb
Root
Ring of warding
Mb
Banish
Chain
Mb
Swap to 1h

Absolutely supernice in a one on one. Gamechanging versus multiple opponents.

You realize that other professions do the same damage as that huge chain you just explained, which is easily interrupted or avoided, in just two or three seconds? Without having to go complete glass cannon with 10K hp such as in your case.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with what you do, I’m saying other professions are far better at it, which is unfair.

I have 15 k health, 500 heal per dodge and the entire chain was just to illustrate the use of skills.

I do 10k damage, 6k being aoe, with mb+chain+mb while having protection and retal on my team while getting 400-1700 hp from altruistic healing. All in all 4s, what other class does that?

And frankly, this thread isnt about other classes, its about the usability of the hammer.

And SyG makes it very difficult to interupt.

The thread was made for a quality of life change to hammer. Does the hammer fill a specific niche? Of course, all weapons can be considered to fill a specific niche. However, I(and many other players) would love to see the last part of the #1 chain sped up. Will this make the hammer overpowered? Don’t know, hard to tell, but in any case it is a good change that warrants a look at from Arena.net which is why I made this thread in the first place.

I love the hammer just as much as any of you guys do, it is my main weapon, but I personally feel if the part three of the #1 chain was sped up it would be in a perfect spot(as far as balance goes).
