Good heals/support build?
Im using this:

A bit similar to the build in above post. Buffing heavy build with a lot of focus on support/healing and very good tanking.
Using cleric set but im currently trying out Hotw set for precision/vit/healing power, to allow me to heal more through dodge roll and maybe switch to hammer.
Runes, your choice, either Soldier/Dolyak or Dwayna/Water. Sigils, i went Energy for quick endurance recovery.

My one:
I think Toughness is better than Vitality in this case, as you get more out of the healing. You need to be rather tanky to ensure you can remain in a suitable position to protect your allies with your shields etc. Pretending to be a monk is for another, lighter armored class in my opinion.
EDIT: Relinked.

and I am using this full support build:

I am always swaping between Signet Of Mercy and Retreat – depends on the situation

You can also use the Signet of Mercy if need a little (VERY LITTLE) healing boost and a fast ress (ONE in 4 min…).
Swap “Hold the line!” with it.
It depends which kind of players you are fighting.
If you swap the skill, you have to remove “Superior Aria” (honor II) traits and put something else.
Honestly I prefere Hold the line. Signet of Mergy has low performance.
Suggestion…
GW2 doesn’t support friendly target selection, so if you want succesfully use “Mercifu Intervention”, “Healing Breeze” and “Sanctuary” you should stick to your def target… well actually Sanctuary can be a ground target if you use “Consacrated Ground” trait (virtues III), some times i found it usefull.

Armor: 4 are Cleric (heal + tough + power), 2 are Arcon (heal + vit + prec)
Toughness is usefull vs direct damage. Vitality is good agains conditions and direct damage.
Dungeon have both, so i need both the stats. Good life amount and high protection.
All Sapphire/Cleric accessories.
This is healer/tank/support build.
You have to stay in front of your party, you have to be the front man. Take the aggro (fighting), tank the boss, heal your self and friend, use shield and wall for prevent damage.
This is not a pure healer build.
If you wan to be healer, in GW2 you can’t, unfortunatly skills performance are too low for be healer. Try by yourself and you will see it.
I hope Anet will change some mechanics… but right now is impossible.
I found that the best way to prevent party dead is not heal (cause is not enough), but is prevent them to take damage and direct all the damage on me.
You need to stay in first line, fight and support, both of them.
Guardian is not a player who can stay behind the line and heal (like wow) otherwise havy armor is pointless.
Suggestion…
Some boss are not ranged. So is pointless use “wall of reflection”, switch it with Signet of Mercy and, ofc, change the traits.
I just started messing around with a mace/shield and hammer build that is mostly about getting up into melee range and dropping symbols everywhere to heal allies.
The staff works as a nice extra weapon to keep in the bags for the ranged Symbol of Swiftness as well. Still messing around, trying to decide if it’s worth stacking enough Precision/Toughness to make Glacial Heart useful. Also trying to hammer (heh heh puns) out if 30 points in Valor is worth it and focusing on Meditation skills, or if popping 10 out of Valor to put in Virtues and go for a more Consecration-focused build.
I really started to do this because I found I didn’t have much in the way of offensive power in my older support/heal build, and I get a little too happy when Banish knocks some joker off a cliff.
