Greatsword inferior to Sword dps...
Well I personally use the Knight’s Amulet along with the Beserker Jewel giving me a total of nearly 20k hp. I also mainly use the GS and Sword/Shield combo.
One of the master traits that you can get with 30 trait points into the line grants you +15% crit chance with 1 handed weapons. This is unbelievably awesome! This then gives me a total of nearly 85% crit chance when I use my Sword. My damage with the Sword does seem slightly better than the GS though when using the 3 abilty as I seem to crit more. That’s mainly probably why, due to more crits. With the GS on the other hand, the versatilty that you have with the 4th and 5th skill is just great.
yes and also whirling wrath will hit everything in a big area around you while zealots defense can get blocked by a single minion.
Yeah the fact that Whirling Wrath will literally hit everyone around you is insane.
Why not use both?
Using skill 3 with both deal some serious damage.
Whirlimg wrath traited is also half the cooldown of zealots defense and AOE hits which iswonderful. You can also move while doing it o.o-b
The gs is an AoE weapon, so naturally it isn’t as good at single-target DPS otherwise it’d be OP.
Apples and Oranges.
I prefer my GS over my SwordShield when there are mesmers.
Spin and take those clones out the field
You cant compare both when they do different things. Damage isnt the only factor for comparison
^ Agree with this. Greatsword is more of an aoe weapon, while Sword is great single target. You get a blind, good dmg, fantastic balance of offense and defense, etc etc. With GS you get nice aoe output, free condition removal with combo fields, and a pretty awesome 5 skill (just for the cool effect). They do different things, I’d imagine most ppl would carry both.
Greatsword’s Whirl of Wrath can deal more (much more if you’re lucky) than ZD on a single target given that most your projectiles hit. It’s harder in PvP because they will not stay in the same spot for you to stack on. You can still pull it off by cc then whirl on top of them.
