Guardian?
I love it, very powerful defensive tools. For leveling I’d stick to GS and Sword/focus. Sword2 is a teleport to your target which is nice for movement as well as a blind, two things that are incredibly useful while leveling, toss in the 3 blocks and additional blind from focus and you’re golden. GS is great burst damage with the 2 skill, and then 3 is a leap for movement again as well as a blind.
Really can’t go wrong with that weapon combo on things that you can blind.
Race doesn’t matter really.
Obal has a leveling guide video around here somewhere which I’m sure is worth looking at (I haven’t personally).
Ok, thanks for ur reply, what stats should i go for on items ?
Power, then power/precision, and power/precision ferocity.

^^ This, In combat utilize your blinds to avoid taking much of any damage, if you rotate them well you can go unscathed much of the time. Then you have Aegis for backup when you can’t. Toss in Shelter and Focus5 for blocks and you should be golden, and then Focused renewal is an invuln so you can utilize that while refreshing your virtues getting another aegis and blind from VoJ once you get that traited up.
I also usually put on my weapons when leveling a minor sigil of bloodlust and a minor sigil of force and at lvl 39 put major ones, just keep salvaging and putting new ones every time I get a stronger powerbased weapon as a drop, and put the first trait point available in Radiance for the blind on F1
I find Guardian very fun. The only warning I should give is that you will spend most time in the frontline so if that doesn’t sound appealing Guardian isn’t for you.
For open-world solo content, Sword/Focus and Greatsword is my favorite combination. Because of this, your first traits should probably go in Radiance (for an extra blind and vulnerability on blinds). For utilities, you should give everything a try, but you’ll probably stick to Signets, Meditations or Spirit Weapons. Your healing skill should probably be Shelter. It’s by far our most useful option. Your Elite Skill needs to be Renewed Focus, it’s the only one worth taking, especially in open world content.

Minor Sigil of speed is very nice too
Right thanks all for ur replys gonna try out a guardian right now xD
I echo Great-sword and Sword/Focus, although I wish Shield was more appealing since I love the look of sword and board on Guardian.

Amen, hoping the next big balancing patch takes a look at that. So many options that could leave shield in a useful situation.
Guard is in the same boat as Ele for me. I have a hard time finding them fun at all unless i play specific builds/wpns. Ele i can only play d/d. Guard i can only play medi. Everything else bores me on these classes. Moral of the story-> check out all the different builds and combos to see if any suit your play style. Don’t give up after just a few minutes/hours.
Warrior – The New Burninator! Strongbad would be so proud!
Guardian – Burn for you, heal for me, block for me and uh…sorry Im all out of gifts.

Curious what about Medi entertains you? I get the weapon choices, but Medi is simply a DPS build with a higher than average focus on defense.
There is no really wrong way to play. I levelled using sword and torch and basically circle strafing mobs and burning them down.
Burn is very powerful in pve. I highly rate mace/focus + Defenders Flame. You can kill tons of mobs and not even take any damage. Lately when I am running around gathering or finishing my daily, I use GS + Mace/Foc, I can bring huge groups of mobs to me and simply burn them down.
The 1 point traits in Honor, Radiance, Virtues are some of our strongest and what I always grab early. Getting 3 in Radiance, 2 in Valor and 1 in Virutes and 1 Honor would be on my priority list when levelling.

S/F+ Gs as other people have mentioned. For utility pick any of the following:
Bane signet
Signet of judgment
Smite condition
judge’s intervention
Sword of Justice (hammer knocks things back which is counterproductive)
any shout
the rest are situational while leveling but consecrations will be invaluable in dungeons later on.
As others said Greatsword/Sword + Focus is the way to go for leveling as open world foes are almost never immune to blind, so the combo brings the best active defense you can have. For traits I’d first start with 1 points in Honor, then 2 to get Superior Aira. When you can finally go beyond Adept traits I d suggest to retrait and get 3 points in Radiance and try to get Superior Aira again when there is enough trait points Alternatively you can try to slot 2 points in Zeal for Fiery Wrath along with 3 points in Radiance, but keep in mind that on solo encounters Burning is bit hard to maintain on all times. After getting 3 in Radiance and 2 in either Honor and Zeal I believe the rest is optional. I would personally aim to have atleast 3 points in Zeal and 5 points in Radiance.
For runes and sigils I d start with minor runes that give power and precision, and stack them on all gear while getting minor sigil of speed and luck for swiftness and various boons. I’d also carry a scepter with me with sigil of speed and the new sigil that cripples on crit, as sonetimes you can encounter numerous foes that you just can’t constantky blind or champions. For major rune I would stack rune of the pack and whatever else that gives power and precision, and keep the runes same (only upgrade them). For superior runes I would probably complete rune of the pack set or get rune of the scholar. Once you are 80 you can get new rune/sigil combinations as you please.
