Guardian Advice
The main problem with combining dps and healing is that there are no gear that combine healing and crit damage. Sure you can rely on retaliation (valid in pvp) but that actually demands you to get hit on. Which is a very slow method of killing stuff.
If you want decent dps you should at least have 65-70% crit damage imo.
But if you insist on combining the two i would maybe stack 1k healing power in gear and traits and gear and berserkers for the rest of the gear.
Something like this wouldnt be to bad even though a bit low on power. Which you can compensate with stack sigils and consumables.
Note that i havent optimized the stats and the choice of gear are just examples.
“Magi” has precision and healing power, but that is totaly wrong to use on guardian, i would recoment to almost ignore the healing power and raise the boon durations.
Here are some advices:
-Healing power is only good for pve (high healing power and armor makes a mace guardian imortal in pve), and in pvp\wvw if you get rooted or bursted you cant do much with low health or armor, healing power wont help.
- Due low mobility of guardian, faster and ranged classes will always maintain that safety distance, will force you to heal, use of your defensive skills, shredd your boons, and when your skills are loading it is a good time to atack(even with teleports and blinks you cant do much).
I suggest trying out all the aspects of a guardian an decide what you like the most and running with that.
I’d work on getting to 80, playing with all the different traits/skills/weapons. Then research on these forums and even guild wars 2 guru. There is a lot of great information out there.
I would pve, www, and spvp. It offers a different guardian experience in each setting and teaches you skills that will apply to all settings.
With any class, I suggest gearing a little defensively first (p/v/t gear) and work your ways toward being more offensive as you get better. Find your comfort level. Different guardians have different tastes on these forums and you just have to find your niche.
