Simple question. In terms of WvW. Is it still viable for celestial armor to be used on a guardian. I’m thinking about making ascended armor and don’t know whether I should stick with soldiers/knights or go celestial.

I’ve done some math. Swapping from soldiers i would lose about 8-100 armor and 600-1k health, but gain anywhere from 156-396 stats in healing power, condition damage, ferocity and gain about 7-12% crit chance.

Celestial is great for a 1 size fits all build. I personally run celestial and I love it. The extra healing power is great for upping the heal on dodge roll. Combo’d with sigil of energy it makes great sustain. The condi damage is nice to as your passive burn hits much harder. A free dps boost with very little effort.

It all comes down to the runes after that. Strength, exuberance and worm are some options that i would recommend.

I´m also running some Celestials (in general some armor but not full and situationwize some trinkets), mixed with some other stat gear.
As Lucente wrote, celestial is a very good base for survivability with a good access to damage and lets you decide, which way you wanna go
And you should´nt forget the healing of “Empower”

Celestial gear is used in many builds to create a solid foundation of stats, some niche ones even use a full celestial gear set(focusing on stats comes through the food and other kind of buffs in this case).
Can’t really go wrong with Celestial Armor set in my honest opinion.
