Guild Wars 2

Well, I have taken a solid 2 month break since release. Played pretty much Guardian exclusively. My reason for coming back, is hope that the new WvW patch will help bring ppl back.

However, I’ve been playing my Guardian and it just feels…..meh. I’m running the Typical AH build. Anything you guys can post here for me to get inspired is greatly appreciated. I’m sure there are others in my situation looking for something to gear them up. So let’s see what you got. Videos/builds etc. I’d love to try a DPS build but not sure if there currently is one, or potentially will be once we see patch notes fingers crossed

In all seriousness it’s easy to rack up 3k+armor and still have acceptable crit % and crit damage (like say 40+and 60+ respectively). Give me fury (which I can apply through save yourselves) I can do up to 5-6k whirling wraths on less…armored individuals. If they stay in my large symbol of wrath my dps effectively doubles. Burning supplements this damage as does retaliation and the retal symbol. Additionally if you let GS 5 tick it can do respectable damage as well.

Other weapons do pretty good damage as well. Don’t understimate symbols + autoattacks.

Unfortunately Altruistic Healing is still our best grandmaster trait, I wouldn’t recommend switching that out just for the uniqueness feeling.

Guardian can do really nice dps and even brust damage – but you sacrafice a lot.

i would say that 30 valor just makes it a lot easier in any situation – regardless of AH or meditation heals. anything else that provide good surviveability is too stationary for WvW

No does not worth it, make a thief, mesmer or necro.
Faster characters and range DPS is all you need, or what game needs.

Essentially, it turns the Guardian into a high-mobility roamer, ideal for supply interception, skirmishing, and small-group combat. It has very substantial DPS (though not exactly “burst”, a 5k Whirling Wrath followed by a weaponswap and 4k Mighty Blow [or vice verse], followed up with autoattacks critting for 2-3k, will cause most opponents to reconsider their choice of targets), and though it does provide a substantial amount of support, the person it supports best is yourself.

The damage numbers aren’t the most impressive out there, but due to the build’s mobility and CC options, most of the damage you dish out is extremely difficult to avoid.

I wasn’t aware that people left. Regardless, if you left on a whim previously, I don’t see anything particularly exciting that would bring you back now.

I run my own version of a symbol bomb build. Its a lot of dps in conjunction a lot of survivability.
