i was thinking: is possible to do a guardian condition build?and if yes how u can create it competitive?
i see the best weapon choice is sceptre/torch and the 2^ line traits (on precision) is the most usefull (also the fiery wrath +10% against burning foes from 1^ trait line is usefull)
this is only a curiosity from a non-guardian-player..
thx to all 4 help!
ive tried that, its fun to spread fiery circles near your allies, put every on fire etc etc, but theres a huge drawback as fire stacks in duration, and condictions are easy for melandru rune set, condition removers, food, etc.
Its a more useless stat/atribute on guardian then the heal stat on guardian.
I found burning to be most effective in general orr farming, pve stuff. I’ve tried seom AoE burning tricks in WvW but it wasn’t all that effective. My PVE burning build is in my signature.
It is not possible to make a good guardian build around condition damage because burning is the only damaging condition guardians have. A condition damage build needs access to bleed stacking and application of some other damaging condition(s) (pois, burn, confuse) to really be effective.
That’s nonsense. You don’t need access to bleed stacking or more damage conditions to make a good condition build with a guardian for a few reasons.
1. Condition damage on a guardian isn’t meant to be the primary damage source, unlike thief for instance.
2. It’s not a requirement to have more than one source of condition damage to make a good condition damage build.
These things mean that a good CD build on a guardian is about enhancing an already existing secondary, parallel damage source to take advantage of the condition damage benefits. If you recognize burning for what it does, you realize where it’s useful and how to get the most from it.

Ah, why won’t people ever get their facts straight?

in pve guardian are god, but so the only 3 competitive build 4 guardian are:
- bunker build
- glass cannon build
- support/healing build
can’t do a burning guardian who did a lot of dmg to another player (wvw/pvp)?
Burning recharge is too long, uptime isn’t long enough and a single condition is too easily removed for it to be good enough to be more than a nuisance in PvP.
If you use VoJ in passive mode with Supreme Justice Trait and a fast acting weapon, you might make a bigger dent in someone.
Fun AoE fire build with balanced stats. Good for farming and dungeon running. Could probably apply some pressure in WvW too. Utilities are pretty much up to you but I would advise taking at least one of the AoE burns to get the party started.
Right handed strength gives you great crit with little investment in precision. Carrion, Flame Legion runes, and Chrysocola gems give you pretty good power. Everything has condition damage on it and your weapon sigils can provide you a bit of bleed.
Solid vit and toughness plus using your active defenses (blind, block, dodge) will keep you alive for a long time.

You can make any build work ok for PvE farming, but that doesn’t mean its actually good.

This ignorant and unhelpful statement needs to be abolished from use in the forums right along with all the people who spout it.
Not everyone has the same gameplay priorities as you do. PvE in this game is no more “farming” than PvP or WvW is. Different builds, traits, playstyles, and gear work better or worse in different portions of the game (and even different situations with in those portions).
This is a game with options. Stop telling people there aren’t any.

That’s a true statement in some cases but specifically pertaining to burning builds and Guardians, you are wrong. There are burning builds that are good for PVE farming. I use them, apparently others do as well.

I didn’t say there aren’t options, just that some options work better than others. From a pure efficiency standpoint(total dps and sustainability) condition damage is not a good stat for guardians. That doesn’t mean you can’t make a build around that is pretty effective and have a lot of fun with it.

this one seems really interesting to me..great dmg with survivability and burning.._
seems the thing i was search for..
and yes in gw 2 there are 3 different play stile pve/pvp/wvw and any one of these have different rules and benefit, but a good build is a good build anywhere..;)
