Guardian Healing Power And How It Stacks
Healing Power affect regeneration.
130 + (0.125 * Healing Power) per second (At level 80). But at the beginning of the game, my friend and I found out that regen was affected by the Healing Power of the person on which the Regen boons was and not the person that created the boons. So if you have high Healing Power and put regen on a friend that have no healing power. The regen on him won’t heal him as strongly as it will heal you.
But a little advice. NEVER go for healing power. This is the worst broken stat in the game. We have so powerful healing at the base and healing power scale really bad to boost that heal in so small amount. Power, Precision, Crit Dmg, Toughness, Vitality and Condition Damage are all better stats, that will help you more.
I will skip the standard “there is no pure support” talk and answer the HP scaling question.
When you look at the wiki – Regeneration, you can see it scales of Healing Power at 0.125 per point. Which means 1000 Healing Power basically doubles the effect of Regeneration (130+125). Most skills in game which apply healing in some way also scale of Healing Power, the rate is just not mentioned in tooltips anywhere in game. Check the wiki for those.
You should not use anyting than full berserker status on PvE.
But you’ll need about 1500 of healing power to double the effects of most guardian heals, the exceptions are regeneration, and the awful scaling like detonate (#5 shield), altruistic healing, monk focus, Sanctuary Merciful Intervention. Some skills that does not scale at all, like bow of truth and a few others I think.
The heling scale is really awful on the most skills.

As others have said, healing power is a poorly balanced stat, and the only place where it’s really viable is in WvW.
Check the healing link in my sig for a spreadsheet for different guardian skills/traits healing effects against healing power and group composition. ( You’ll have to save to your desktop/your own account it if you want to change any of the input settings )

I find it can also be effective in sPvP… at least on my engg, I’ve only done hotjoin on my guardian. I never really used guardian in fractals so I don’t think I can comment on that.
Also OP, keep in mind that you have some skills or traits that will directly heal others, such as healing breeze and writ of the merciful. These will also scale off healing power.

Except I’ve found healing to be very useful. I have a zerk set that I often use, but in WvW, dungeons and other groups I find cleric’s is often useful as well. I’m not saying you’d want more than 1 person to have lots of healing (and certainly I wouldn’t solo with it), but it is useful to be able to swap to a cleric’s staff, empower and dodge heal twice. That throws a lot of healing out there. More than a few times, I’ve saved a group from a wipe or kept someone from going down. Then switch back to my zerk hammer/GS and dps. Usually when I join a group, I start with my cleric’s armor. If the group doesn’t need the heals, I switch to zerk. But its useful having both.
