Trying to figure out best leveling weapons (I am not that big of a weapon swapping kind of guy right now – never have been sadly).

I like to DPS to be honest and I like damage.

Sword / Torch
-or-
Greatsword

Which is the best for a “Lazy leveler” like me?

Sword / Torch for hearts and Greatsword for events for AoE mob tagging?

Just use whatever you like… greatsword is the default main wep for most guardians in PVE.

Greatsword is probably the go-to weapon. I like to complement it with the Sword/Focus combo.

Yup the Greatsword is probably the best all purpose choice for general PvE. If you are dealing with larger crowds and/or need need more defensive support you can try Hammer which is pretty decent (kinda slow though). Sword+X doesn’t have the best damage, but it offers a good bit of utility if you spend the time to weapon swap and work in a rotation.

I am having an absolute blast leveling with scepter/torch. Easy.

I swap GS once in a while. but mostly stay with Scep/Torc.

GS+Sword/F can be evil with smite conditions. Jump in the middle of a group with leap, GS5 , put down symbol, GS5 again, GS2… if they use condies, Smite… If you are low on HP: swap, focus4, focus5 and finish the rest with AA and sword2.

Sword 2 is weak though. You mean sword 3? Sword 2 is the teleport attack.

It’s also a blind, and chaining blinds = win.

Ahhh did not know that. I thought it was just useless considering I do 20-30 something damage with it, when my regular attack with sword is 60-70 or 70-80 with boons. I do 70-80 with GS with no boon, and I haven’t noticed much speed difference. Overall I go with GS/S+F or GS/Staff, though if you think you are fragile, do M+F

Sword aa is better than gs aa for dps, but gs has a lot of hard hitting abilities ( in fact, everything non aa is a dps gain). Sword 2 is useful only if you need the blind, and you probably don’t in open world. Gs+ sw/focus is the fastest.

Scepter focus and Greatsword are the ones I use as a Guardian to balance my need for range and melee combat.

i used GS+staff for my leveling, exploring pve world weapons

spam 1 on your staff and pull a bunch of mobs, make them follow you behind you
place your staff simbol on the ground, and place the staff 5 wall skill on the symbol.

Should be around 20% symbol for you, and 80% symbol on the other side dmging the enemies

then hit empower

while you gain stacks of might,swiftness (and maybe other benefits from the symbol via triats) the mobs you pulled are getting damaged from the symbol and cant get to you cause of the wall

Then you swich to your GS, leap,blind, place simbol in the middle and wirlwind in the middle of the mob group.

Use sword 5 and auto atacks to finish them off if you havent already….

i think thats the most quickest way to do stuff in basic pve
